I didn't think it was possible to be any more confused about this case...I was so totally WRONG.

Their statement eerily reminds me of the A's still believing Caylee was alive before her body was found, but sadly, I don't think anything insidious is going on here.

I mean I know they should keep up hope, but if the next thing I hear from them is "we hope he's being taken care of by a loving family", I am really going to think they are totally delusional.

And she's asking Terri to cooperate after the letter without Terri's name on it and then Kaine took Terri's child and served her with a divorce and restraining order? Like Terri is going to listen to a darn thing either of them have to say now?

I'm feeling sad for them yet totally perplexed at the same time. What the EFF is going on here?

BBM I TOTALLY AGREE!! IF they really believed Kyron was alive and that SM was hiding him why piss her off by taking her baby away, filing for divorce & RO, & helping the media insinuate she is guilty?? I mean really? If someone had my child; and, I believed my child was still alive I'd be doing all I could to get them to talk. Not sure pissing them off will help at all!

As far as I was concerned, after getting kicked out all deals were off. I wasn’t going to keep the meeting off the record.

According to a reporter who stayed, the family went on to lay out more “ground rules” for the future. They said they’d hold these “news conferences” (if you can call them that) twice a week, on Mondays and Thursdays, as time allows. They would make prepared statements, answer some questions submitted in writing and may also do occasional interviews.

B&RBM. They are planning to hold these twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays? It obviously sounds as if they do not expect a quick resolution. WTH? If he is still alive is it not imperative to find him ASAP???

I just don't get it...did they not see Gates bawling weeks ago, and men/women searchers dragging lakes, etc...? Are they delusional from the loss/pain, which is totally understandable?

Desiree has not seemed right since last week, when she spoke about "beginning to get scared" (after 21 days). Maybe she just cannot process any of this and Kaine is going along with her feelings.

I do hope LE will speak out soon as to the Hormans calling out Terri in such a very public way. LE has indicated that they are working closely with the Hormans-on this too??

I am just so baffled that a(nother) missing child case could turn into a soap opera before the child is even found...

cluci, first off, I've found myself 'thumbsupping' lots of your posts; I like your thinking.

I was posting a reply to Emma's linked WW story when the power cut (grr) but I was basically saying 'WTF, my mouth is hanging open!'.

(right) Now I'm irritated. It seems pretty screwy to me for the family to treat *the community* this way. The people who have been so supportive, financially, physically, emotionally, spiritually... why tell us to keep looking for Kyron, like he's going to be at a Walmart (if we had one) or the local pool? As if he's wandering around and it's just that no one has been astute enough to see him?

If there is a valid reason to keep an entire community on its toes, sincerely looking for a lost little boy that the collective 'we' have invested 4 weeks of our lives in.. well fine. Tell me. I'm happy to keep hope alive. But you've got to start to wonder if you're not just being asked to play the crazy game with them a while longer.
I think it's time for LE to add some context to this beyond what M.Wheat said.

Did I get this right? They don't want the daily state paper....to publish anymore news from them? I so could not care less what news media published about me even if it was pure gossip if my child were missing. I simply would not have the time, the extra emotion, strength it would take to even care what they said about me. All I would care is that they are keeping my child in everyone's mind. I remember Danielle Van Dam case and what the media put them through and the mother didn't care who knew what about her personal life...she just wanted her daughter home. Her reactions were something I can/could relate to. Not this. JMO

I must say I think these people are incredibly bizarre.

may give interviews? hold conferences twice weekly? THERE BETTER NOT BE MANY MORE WEEKS. BRING KYRON HOME!

But then came Shane Kavanaugh and Bryan Denson of The Oregonian.

Horman said the family didn’t like The Oregonian’s coverage and wanted them to leave. Horman said the daily had failed to be a “team player.”

“This is a team, and if we’re not going to play as a team, there’s no point in being here,” Horman said. “This is about Kyron.”

Denson objected, saying he’s new to the story and after 28 years in journalism he’s “a pretty good reporter.” But there was no arguing. The family wanted The O gone, and a woman who said she’s a manager at the church escorted them out. The biggest newspaper in the state had been eighty-sixed.

Team player????

Excuse me, this is the media. They aren't supposed to be on anyone's "team". When that was said, every reporter in the room should have walked out.

There are TWO things family should never do:

1) Not report your child has an allergic reaction to bees and has a strawberry birth mark on his forehead.

2) Throw out the media

IMO, why bother even having this "controlled" off the record meeting with a select group of news media. When you tick off the media they DIG really deep.

The family could have released the statement via a fax to the media without all the drama of throwing people out.

most likely the unsealing of the RO and all the sceery details contained within.

If they (D and Kaine) think and believe that Kyron is alive and want TH to cooperate that there is A LOT more going on here than we currently know.

sorry.........my brain is so scrambled right now i can't even think straight...i totally agree with your comment :waitasec:

I hope so and I hope LE keeps doing it.

The problem is..if someone isnt involved..the LE can look at them for ever..and still wont charge them. They dont seem even remotely interested in Kaine.

That was just Wierd watching it.. Expecially after she said that is it and they kept taping. She seemed Angry ( grabbing the paper) I WOULD BE TO/ Kyron's Dad seemed to seprate himself from Mom and Step dad then a "hug at the end that looked Forced to me"

I think Dad is feeling great guilt even if he was not involved he probley feels this is his fault for trusting and being married to Step mom. MAN that whole thing broke my heart.

Yes they should They should be on KYRON'S team IMO and ONLY Kyrons team right now. Air the Dirty Laundry after the baby has been found. MOO

It probably doesn't help that the lady who manages the church is with them. Her reading comprehension skills suck and left that nasty message on the door for the Oregonian. Am I remembering correctly?

I don't know exactly WHAT the purpose of "IT" was, but I think what they succeeded in doing was making a whole lotta eyes.......look at them.

I am thinking that Jane and Nancy might be quite interesting tonight.... :waitasec:

Before this "press conference", I thought I had it figured out. Now, WTF do I know. That "control" thing bothers me to no end....I feel HINK.

I don't know, are you referring to Kaine being cotnrolling over the media? I think so many nasty rumors have been spilled they are truly trying to keep that under wraps... That or some giant elephant someone is trying to hide that they don't want out?

TK71TEXAS:

Please tell me about your sig and pic. Makes me shiver.

"
As much as I would like to choke them sometimes, they are still my pride and joy. My biggest accomplishment yet!
"

I'm kind of feeling insulted right now and I'm not even a reporter :(

If LE backed this whole thing, I'm really weirded out.

So let me just review; we know he is alive, we know Terri knows where, but all of us should be keeping ours eyes peeled? Huh? Did Terri just release him into the universe? Like how some people take their unwanted pets and drop them off in the country? That's what we are supposed to think now?

As an outsider to this story, I tend to agree with your frustration. But, if it were my little boy who was missing, I would stand on my head and suck my thumb if that is was LE thought might bring him home. I'm guessing that the family is following the advice of LE as far as what to say and when to say it. I'd swear on my life that I'd just seen a polka-dot unicorn if I thought it might bring my son (or daughter) home.

Let's try this. TH loves the boy as if he was her own. There is trouble between her and her husband (maybe an affair, maybe just differences). She realizes that she has no legal "right" to Kyron as he is not actually her son (as opposed to the baby, who she is the biological mother to). So, she hides Kyron away somewhere (or has someone do it for her.)

The thing is she doesnt give the impression she loves him like her own. She really doesnt. She kept adding people to FB and yet couldnt even say my son/step son is missing or place a picture of him on there like so many others did.

Maybe they should be IMHO.

My theory is that the Oregonian will go out there with new inspiration to dig, dig dig. TH's atty knows he needs them. The Oregonian drives Oregon news like it or not, Kaine.
Gloves are off. "There will be blood."

imho
