GUILTY OK - Michelle 'Renee' Bixler, 40, beaten to death, Hallett, 12 July 2008

This is one of the strangest things I have seen in awhile. They put out his photo yesterday as a POI and he was picked up in Florida. The homicide happened Saturday, but there is absolutely no information released on it yet. Then they are asking people for information regarding the homicide. WTH?! I guess you REALLY had to be there! Maybe it is a new tactic of small town Oklahoma LE to narrow down the suspects.

Authorities say they had been looking for 39-year old Mark Bixler as a person of interest in a homicide that happened in rural Pawnee County on Saturday morning.

I think I'm a little concerned that LE doesn't have information on a homicide. How do you not have information?? Okay, I understand not knowing exactly what happened or why, but if you have a suspect, and then arrest that person, shouldn't you have SOME idea what happened????

A Pawnee County man accused of killing his wife is awaiting extradition from Florida to Oklahoma.

Major Mike Waters with the Pawnee County Sheriff's Department says 40-year-old Renee Bixler was found dead in her home near Hallett on Saturday morning.

"She was brutally beaten and possibly stabbed with a sharp object," said Major Waters.

A man wanted in connection with a Pawnee County homicide has been arrested in Florida. Officials with the Pawnee County Sheriff's Office tell NewsChannel 8 Mark Paul Bixler was arrested Monday morning in Okaloosa County, Florida.

Bixler is suspected in the beating and stabbing of his wife, 40-year-old Michelle Renee Bixler. Michelle Bixler's body was found by a family member over the weekend.
