Were these three murders committed by the same killer?

From WhyaDuck's link above, I'd just like to draw attention to this paragraph:

At a police conference in Kamloops in 1981, about three dozen homicide detectives compared notes on the string of unsolved cases, then known as the "Highway Murders."

Although there wasn't much to go on, they noticed one connection: the name of a 33-year-old white man appeared in the files of Colleen, Pamela, Gale and a fourth woman, Monica Ignas.
<bbm>

Assuming they meant at the time of the murders in 1973 and 1974, if this man is still alive, he would now be approx 70 years in age.

What is particularly interesting about LE having made the connection between these 4 victims is that Gale, Pamela and Colleen were in Clearwater, Kamloops, and 100 Mile House BC, while Monica was in Terrace, BC ... 550+ miles northwest of the other locations (that are somewhat clustered in what I believe is referred to as the Central Interior of BC).

How can we find out more on this person whose name kept popping up in these four particular cases? :waitasec:

Despite “one name that keeps popping up” — he wouldn’t reveal the man’s name, other than to say he is linked to a community close to Prince George
