There is a comment at the above link stating the child they thought was on survellience at 13th and 50th was not Leibby. I can't find a MSM article to confirm it.

Praying he went home with a friend and is found safely soon!

The following link now states the reward has been increased to $100,000

Leibby has light brown hair, black glasses and was wearing a grey and light blue striped shirt, navy pants, black sneakers and a knapsack bearing the words “Nechmod Day Camp” when he was last seen.

Chaim Deutsch of the Flatbush Shomrim told VIN News that the joint Shomrim forces have put out a call for volunteers from all over to join in the massive search. Volunteers are asked to report to 61st Street, between 15th and 16th Avenues at 5 PM. Busloads of volunteers from many areas including the Catskills, Lakewood and Monsey are expected to join the search later today.

Wow. Thousands of volunteers. $100,000 reward. This is definitely not the typical response. I hope he is okay.

There were conflicting reports that a surveillance camera captured images of the boy walking at the corner of 13th Ave. and 50th St.

[snip]

"Leibby is a carbon copy of his dad. He's a very good kid, a great kid. He's an angel. He has no rebellious streak to him," said family fried Schmuel Eckstein.

Daskel said those who knew the boy could not imagine he would have wandered off on his own.

"The boy's teachers told us he is very obedient. Very quiet. If someone told him to get in a car. He would listen. We hope and pray that someone hasn't done that," Daskel said.

Leibby is about 4 feet tall and weighs 50 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with green and white stripes, blue pants, black leather belt, black socks, black sneakers and a knapsack reading "Nechmod Day Camp."

Daskel said searchers worried that if the boy had been abducted, efforts may have been made to obscure his identity. "Maybe someone cut off his payes [sidelocks] and took off his yarmulke," he said. "Keep a look out for that."

According to detailed reports from the "VozIzNeias" web site; volunteers from the Boro Park, Flatbush and Williamsburg Jewish auxiliary police known as the Shomrim, joined forces with the New York Police Department, including K9 and aviation units,

While initial reports indicated that surveillance cameras had spotted Leibby walking on 13th Avenue until 50th Street, careful scrutiny by Leibby’s parents have determined that he is not the boy in the video. The only confirmed video sighting of the youth is on a camera showing him leaving the Boyan Camp on 44th Street.

not sure if this had been posted... how sad :-(

Leiby Kletzky was last seen around 4:50 p.m. as he left Yeshiva Boyan on 44th Street in Borough Park.

He was supposed to meet his parents about seven blocks away, but did not show up. It was the first time the boy had been allowed to leave the camp on his own, sources told NBC New York.

http://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/local/125413653.html

Pearl Tyrnauer, a friend of the boy’s family, said that Leiby is a “very friendly boy.” He described Leiby’s mother as an over-protective parent who would assign one of her older daughters to accompany the boy if he wanted to go the park to play.

Tyrnauer said that her husband spoke with Leiby’s parents, who said their son had walked home from camp with another student on Monday. The student’s home is about a block away from Leiby’s, and that’s where the two children parted ways.

Tyrnauer said that Leiby’s mother often met him near the friend’s home after school. But when she went to meet her son yesterday, Leiby wasn’t there.

Police say that at this time there is no evidence of foul play.

“We can’t speculate at this time” about foul play, said Moskovitz, the safety patrol official. “Why think the worst? We would like to be optimistic.”

"Right now, as we speak, (police) dogs are tracking the boy's scent," said Jacob Daskel, coordinator of Borough Park Shomrim neighborhood patrol. "We are trying to map out a map detailing where he has been."

(((well this is great news if the dogs were able to pick up a scent!)))

The boys parents held vigil in the family's home on 15th Ave. Leibby is the second youngest of their five children, neighbors said.
