I am familiar with this case and know the person and family involved.

The Facebook page was taken down due to a dispute within the family (I did not start or have anything to do with the page).

I am new to these forums and don't really know how things work around here. If you have any questions about this case please fire away and I'll do my best to fill in any blanks.

As sad as it is for his family, I'm glad that his remains we're at least found.

Shaun Barker’s family appeals for public assistance to solve the mystery of his death more than 300km from his Robina home

June 22, 2014

ALL little Piper knows is that her daddy is in heaven.

The two-year-old doesn’t know her dad Shaun Barker was missing for four months before forestry workers in Tin Can Bay found his skull on April 10, more than 300km from their Robina home on the Gold Coast.

She doesn’t know the 33-year-old’s blue Kia Rio car was found just last week, dumped in thick bushland at Pacific Pines.

Instead, as police scramble to find out what happened to the dedicated dad, Shaun Barker’s devastated fiancee Lauren Jones must tell the couple’s little girl her daddy won’t be coming home.

“She realises daddy’s not there, she asks for him all the time,” Ms Jones said.

“I had to tell her the other day, daddy’s not coming home, he’s gone to heaven, but she just has no idea.”

The family of Mr Barker, including Ms Jones, is desperate for answers and has appealed to the public for help.
