Australia Australia - Jeanette 'Jenny' Moss, 69, Melbourne, 14 Jan 2014

January 14, 2014 - exactly a year ago on Wednesday - was searing hot, the same day Bernard Tomic played Rafael Nadal at the Australian Open.

Her son, who spoke to media on Wednesday, remembers his mother struggling that week in the heat.

"She was very fragile. She was diagnosed a couple of years prior with a terminal illness and the six months leading up to this day, her state of health was getting worse and worse," Mr Moss said.

Police are no closer to finding out what happened to the 69-year-old grandmother after she was found dead inside her Middle Park apartment on January 15 last year.

Mrs Moss had upper body injuries and was found with a sheet around her neck...

Mr Moss said he keeps in constant contact with investigating detectives. He said male DNA was found at the scene — but police have not been able to find a match and say it could have been picked up when Mrs Moss went to the gym earlier that day.

[h=1]Cold case CCTV clue: Socialite Jeanette Moss’s final moments caught on CCTV before murder[/h]ALEKS DEVIC, Sunday Herald Sun

August 19, 2017
NEW CCTV footage has emerged of murdered Middle Park socialite Jeanette Moss on the day she died — as police step up the hunt for her killer.

Her family are now pleading for a coronial inquest, 3½ years after her body was found in her apartment.
In the previously unreleased footage, the frail 69-year-old grandmother with a terminal lung condition is seen entering the Port Melbourne branch of Coles at 11am on January 14, 2014.

She waits in the foyer as her longtime friend Elsie Johnston drops off a script. The pair then do a brief shop before heading out into busy Bay St on a sweltering summer’s day.

The pair had earlier been to the gym and had coffee at a cafe.

Victoria Police has revealed that detectives began to review the case 11 months ago, searching for any evidence that may have been missed.

''The distraught family of Melbourne socialite Jeanette Moss, who was murdered in her home, has pleaded with her killer to come forward.
Derham Moss said there hadn't been a day where he wasn't heartbroken by the loss of his mother, who was found dead inside her apartment in Middle Park on January 15, 2014.
"My mum was frail. She was kind, generous. She was happy she wouldn't have had any enemies. I can't possibly imagine anyone she knows would do something like that," Moss said.''

''There was no sign of forced entry to her apartment and a number of glasses were on her kitchen bench, leading police to believe she was killed by someone known to her.
Over the past nine years, 31 people of interest have been identified and ruled out.
That morning she had been seen running several errands in her area in her green 1997 BMW sedan - she went to a gym class, went shopping and drove a friend to a pharmacy on Bay Street, Port Melbourne just before 11am.
She then returned home and made a number of phone calls to organise her upcoming 70th birthday party.
Detectives do not know what happened next.''

''A reward of up to $1 million will be paid at the discretion of the chief commissioner of police, for information leading to the apprehension and subsequent conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Moss.''
Police urge anyone with information about Jeanette's death to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au

''Known by friends as 'Jenny', the 69-year-old was found dead in the spare bedroom of her small flat in Melbourne's inner suburbs in January 2014.

After failing to show for a catch up with her neighbour, Jeanette was found with a cloth around her neck, which had been torn from a bed sheet.''

''Furthermore, a half full bottle of red wine sat on the kitchen bench.
As far as Elsie was aware, Jeanette only drank white wine.
One thing Jeanette's children are certain of is her signet ring was taken.'
"But there was other jewellery on her that was left," daughter Tara said.''
