Last seen in morning hours of 30 May in Coombabah at his home residence. He left to go to Southport to meet some friends and has not been seen since. John was driving Harley Davidson motorcycle at the time, Qld reg. number KJ287.

His family mentioned in a posting on FB that John had been working for 'Hunter security services' before he went missing. Before that he was in the army. (I wonder what the first name of any Mr Hunter he worked with was relating back to another thread)

Hunter security was at Runaway Bay shopping centre. Runaway Bay is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Hunter security was at Runaway Bay shopping centre. Runaway Bay is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.

Runaway Bay can be the same place as Coombabah. I knew someone at a retirement village in Runaway Bay and it used to come up on my phone bill as Coombabah.

I still find this missing case fascinating as John went missing in the same town as Marion Barter only days after she changed her name my deedpoll.
I have always wondered if John could have helped Marion reinvent herself as a couple of his ex army friends who I interviewed said that he certainly knew how the spin a few yarns.
It turns out that around the time he went missing he didn't turn up for diving but all his gear wasn't missing. He is or was a very experienced diver. He was also supposed to have been meeting mates at a tavern inn in Southport, NSW but failed to show.
John and his motorcycle have never been traced.

Hi all interested in this case John was a good friend of mine I worked with him at hunter security the owners name was Alex hunter we also worked booze cruises as security John used to do a bit of work as a driver for escorts and he always carried a gun as he was licenced to do so my belief is he was knocked of and I do have my suspicions
