Bonnie Jean Craig was brutally murdered in September, 1974. She was smart, adventurous, kind, and talented — a budding artist who had already illustrated two children's books. Her life was cut short just as she was about to enter Philadelphia College of Art to further her studies."

On Sunday, September 29, 1974, Philadelphia Police officers responded to the 2000 block of Rittenhouse Square and found Bonnie Jean Craig inside of her bedroom in her apartment on the second floor. Her hands and feet were tied to the bed frame with articles of clothing. She had been strangled with an extension cord. She was last known to be alive on Thursday, September 26, 1974.

Bonnie Jean Craig, 20 year-old White female, resided on the 2000 block of Rittenhouse Square. Anyone with information regarding Bonnie's murder is urged to contact the Philadelphia Police Department at 215-686-TIPS (8477).

Notes: the Philadelphia College of Art is now the University of the Arts (UArts), then as now on Broad & Pine Sts.. Also, "Rittenhouse Square" in this case is the name of a street, and, confusingly, the 2000 block of it does not actually front on Rittenhouse Square, one of the five public squares in William Penn's original Philadelphia.
