''Our family would like to share with you the love and joy that Aurora and Joshuah bring to our lives everyday. They are so much more than ‘missing children’, more than a few photos.

The love they share with their big sisters and brother is beyond beautiful and the impact on their siblings is so devastating. They love the time they spend playing with them, loving them and teasing them, it is a very big part of their world.

We have a routine at home, we share, we help, we tease and love each other beyond words. They are exceptionally close to their entire extended family and especially to their many cousins who they visit often, enjoy swimming, sleep-overs and playing outdoors, having the best time!

At home Joshuah loves to help with the cooking, but not the dishes. He loves to spend time playing online games, chatting with his best friends (but will drop everything for a walk with his Stepmom). He will run down from his room mid-game to give a hug & a kiss and share a silly video, or a ‘hilarious’ fart joke.

Aurora is the sweetest girl and is an amazing helper too. Always keeping herself busy with crafts, trying new things and creating. We have a dance party with her before bed so she brushes her teeth more than 30 seconds, then gets a special bedtime ritual of hugs and kisses. Both kids love a good ‘scratch-back’ before bed and we take this time to chat and connect with them one-on-one. They share their day, their hurts, their questions with us, and then go to bed with a good snuggle and kiss.

They love family picnics and movie nights with popcorn, making slime with maximum mess, trying silly experiments, playing silly pranks, water fights in the front yard with the neighbours, friends, play-dates and birthday parties.

Their home, routine, friends, best friends, many cousins, aunties, uncles and grand-parents miss them more than can be expressed. They are loved so very, very much, and are so very missed.”

I respectfully disagree with you. I just don’t see imminent danger of bodily harm here, given the footage. Is it wrong for this father to be denied his custody? Yes, of course! But unless Canadian LE knows something the public doesn’t about the risk inherent in this case, an AA is an extremely forceful card to play here.

The criteria in BC is slightly different than in the US. There is no specific mention of "bodily harm" or "grave danger" but imminent danger yes. The mother did not have custody for reasons. The children have been taken away from their home and family to live in isolation off the grid out in the wilderness. Amber alerts are very rare in BC, 22 since 2004 and the majority involve parental abductions, only 2 were strangers.

I agree.

Perhaps in more densely populated US states, there would be too many amber alerts if every parental abduction were included, but that's not true in BC.

IMO, there's a risk the parent may view this as a desperate do-or-die situation.

Problem is, just now a large portion of the population plus visitors are roaming the backroads with their kids, towing trailers.

Are they using campgrounds like everyone else? Or have they got a more private place to hide out? Or have they headed east out of BC?

The family of an elderly man who is part of a B.C.-wide Amber Alert for two missing children is speaking out and sharing more details about him.

Robert’s stepson Jason Denholm says his father “suffers from dementia” and wants him brought to safety.

Glacier Media spoke to Jason and his wife Nicole Pearson Denholm, who say unfortunately the information about his dementia "cannot be released by the RCMP because he has not had an official diagnosis yet."

The couple says Robert is "probably very confused and frustrated with the situation he has been put in” and "Verity has taken his cellphone, drained his bank accounts, and taken advantage of his dementia."

They hope for Robert's safe return so he can be “properly cared for.”

Cpl. Vanessa Munn with the Surrey RCMP says police cannot speak to personal medical information and “what we can say is that Robert has health concerns and may present as confused and/or disoriented.”

Police remain incredibly concerned for the well-being of the children and the mother’s ability to care for them.

In my opinion, there is danger of bodily harm because if they turn up, the adults have to face the legal consequences of what they're doing and they know it. If they feel like they can't run and hide anymore, they make snap and hurt the children and themselves. It's not far-fetched at all.

I will never understand the parents that do this.

...Up until Thursday, police believed the vehicle they were using was a dark blue 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 with a British Columbia licence plate, SJ2708, but have now added another possible vehicle.

Verity Bolton and Abraxas Glazov may have access to a green 1996 Mitsubishi Delica with a right-hand drive.

"The vehicle is registered to Verity Bolton, however, is uninsured and it is unknown if there are any licence plates on the vehicle,” says Cpl. Vanessa Munn.

...They had previously released images of a horse trailer spotted in Kamloops on July 15. That trailer has been identified as a white 2018 Maverick Highside horse trailer with B.C. licence plate 05994K.

A large fifth-wheel trailer seen in Chilliwack on June 30 when Bolton picked up her father has been identified as a brown 2018 Cougar trailer, model 368. It carries B.C. plates WPM 71B.

...A third trailer — a large travel trailer — was spotted being pulled by Bolton’s dark blue Dodge Ram 2500 pickup truck on July 7, when surveillance footage captured Aurora and Joshuah entering a gas station in Merritt. Police have no additional information on that trailer.

Oh man, I'm so glad the children are alive. Such a shame that the mother's actions will most likely forbid her for spending time with them again.
