''Region of Peel – Homicide Detectives provide additional information and an updated description of the suspect responsible for the shooting death of 21-year-old Pawanpreet Kaur.
Updated Description:
The suspect wore a three-quarter-length dark winter jacket with a hood, dark winter boots, dark pants, a dark winter toque and white gloves. It appears that the suspect was smoking a cigarette. The suspect did not pull the hood up over their head until shortly before shooting the victim at close range.

Through extensive video canvassing and witness interviews, Investigators have determined that the suspect was on foot in the vicinity of the homicide scene three hours prior to the shooting, which occurred at a gas station located at the intersection of Creditview Road / Britannia Road.

During that timeframe, the suspect was observed crossing over Britannia Road east of the intersection and crossing Creditview Road north of the intersection. The suspect may or may not have visited this location in the past.
Following the shooting, the suspect was observed running from the scene westbound across Creditview Road, then westbound on Britannia Road, and then westbound onto Camgreen Circle.
As investigators continue to canvass for more video and witnesses, they are urging anyone with information on this incident, surveillance or dashcam footage that may have captured the moments leading up to, during, or after the incident to contact investigators at 905-453-2121 extension 3205. Anonymous information may also be submitted by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.''

''For a few minutes Monday, there were flowers left at the door of the Petro-Canada station where employee Pawanpreet Kaur, of Brampton, was shot to death Saturday around 10:40 p.m.
Then the flowers were removed and staff focused on selling gas, car washes, lottery tickets and convenience items.

Some 36-hours before, the business in the Creditview-Britannia Rds. area was swarmed by Peel Regional Police officers, media and witnesses who said a young attendant at the gas station was struck multiple times by gunshots from one shooter.
The killer walked away. It was chilling.
Police released a video image of their suspect with gun drawn, wearing a dark hood and clothing, walking into the gas station. It’s unclear if the suspect is male or female.''

''But on Monday, if you don’t follow the news, you might not know anything ever happened at the gas station. It was business as usual.
Sort of.
You could see the anguish, horror, and bereavement on the faces of staff working there.''

''You may be able to help police solve this.

“We are appealing to the public to check their dash-cam and home-security videos before and after the time of the homicide and to contact us if they observe any suspicious person or vehicles in the area,” said Leach. “We would also like to speak with anyone who knew the victim personally.”

While, at least to the public, her killer is a virtual ghost, there’s not a lot of information coming in about Kaur.
Staff at neighbouring businesses mused she was an international student, but that has not been confirmed.

If anybody knew Kaur, please let me know.

I don’t like it when the stories of homicide victims are not told. They are not numbers, but people who had their lives stolen from them.

“We continue to work around the clock in order to identify the person responsible and bring justice for Pawanpreet,” said Leach.
That person should understand something about Peel’s police officers. When they say something like that, they mean it.
Stay tuned. ''

''The suspect was later spotted by security cameras riding a maroon-coloured Sportek Ridgerunner mountain bicycle on Creditview Road north of Sir Monty’s Drive and again on Camgreen Circle shortly after 10 p.m.''

The bike has since been located and se
ized.

Leach said the bicycle might have been stolen, police are encouraging residents to come forward if a bicycle fitting the above description has gone missing.

“If you find it is missing, please contact the homicide bureau even if you have already previously reported it stolen,” said Leach.''

Leach said several cars were lining up at the gas staiton’s car wash and the nearby KFC drive-through at the time of the incident.

Police are urging any drivers with dash cam footage to come forward as it might contain “vital evidence” on the incident.''

How very sad .. a young 21 year old just doing her job and her life cut short, for what?

Rest in Peace, dear Pawanpreet Kaur, and condolences to all those who knew and loved you.

''The parents of a 21-year-old woman who was shot and killed at a Mississauga gas station on Saturday say they now regret sending her to Canada from Punjab on a student VISA when she was a teen.

Their dreams of a better life filled with opportunity for their daughter, Pawanpreet Kaur, were cruelly dashed when she was shot and killed at a Petro-Canada station at Creditview and Britannia roads at around 10:40 p.m.
Police say she was working an overnight shift at the gas station when she was killed.

Kaur’s parents spoke with Jaspreet Pandher of Omni News on Wednesday from Punjab, where they are grappling with sorrow and regret.

“We regret sending her off to Canada,” Kaur’s mother, Jasveer Kaur, said. “Why did we send her at a young age to get her degree? We should have kept her here with us.”
