''According to investigators, a pedestrian was crossing from east to west at the intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road when the driver of a dark-coloured Honda Civic, traveling westbound on Ellesmere Road, made a left turn onto Victoria Park Avenue and struck them.
They said that immediately following the collision the driver exited their vehicle and helped the pedestrian inside before fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.
The driver of the Honda was last seen heading southbound on Victoria Park Avenue.
Police said that the vehicle has an Ontario licence plate with the partial number CDMA or CBMA as well as “notable” damage to the front.
“We don't know if the pedestrian was able to get medical care and we have been looking in hospitals to see if anybody has been struck by a vehicle that we can speak to,” Toronto police spokesperson Const. Ashley Visser said.''

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public's assistance identifying a driver and pedestrian involved in a personal injury collision investigation.
On Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at approximately 1:51 a.m., police received a report of a personal injury collision involving a pedestrian and a motor vehicle at the intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road.
It is reported that:
  • a pedestrian was crossing from east to west at the intersection of Victoria Park Avenue and Ellesmere Road
  • a dark coloured Honda Civic, traveling westbound on Ellesmere Road, made a left turn onto Victoria Park Avenue and struck the pedestrian
  • immediately following the collision, the driver of the dark coloured Honda Civic exited and assisted the pedestrian into his vehicle and fled the area at a high rate of speed
  • the dark coloured Honda Civic was last seen traveling southbound on Victoria Park Avenue
Police would like to speak with the driver and pedestrian to ensure the pedestrian is safe and well.
A partial Ontario licence plate was noted for the vehicle involved and may be CDMA or CBMA. There would be notable damage to the front of the vehicle.
Investigators would also like to speak with any member of the public who may have been in the area at the time, and are requesting local residents, businesses, and drivers, who may have security or dash camera footage of the area or incident, to contact police.

I want to think the driver was so caring and concerned that they loaded the struck person up to take them to the hospital but who knows anymore. The fact that it was just before 2am leads away from that thought...

locals, what's the area like?

ETA: looks like a fairly typical busy intersection
