OCALA Marion County Sheriff's Office detectives are in the preliminary stages of a possible homicide investigation where human remains -- presumably those of a 72-year-old man missing since 2000 -- have been found in the yard of an Ocala home.
While detectives have much work ahead of them -- such as unearthing the remains in one piece, getting a positive identification of the remains and determining a cause of death -- the bones that are being uncovered at 3070 SW 89th Place may be that of Jerry Chirstilaw, who has not been seen or heard from since 2000.
