Details of Disappearance
Tomich was last seen in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 4, 1992. He worked as an organic chemist for the Eli Lilly pharmaceutical company at the time of his disappearance, and was last seen leaving home to go to work.

His brother, whom he lived with, stated he took a shower as usual that morning, said goodbye and left at his usual time, between 6:15 and 6:30 a.m. He never arrived at work and has never been heard from again. After his disappearance, his white 1990 BMW was found locked and abandoned in the company parking lot.

According to his family, Tomich wasn't having any personal problems or problems at work when he went missing. Authorities learned he had withdrawn a four-figure sum of cash from his company savings account about a month before he was last seen; they don't know why or whether this was related to his disappearance. He is described as a person of extremely regular habits, and it's uncharacteristic of him to leave without warning. His case remains unsolved. Mark D. Tomich – The Charley Project

My thought was that maybe he had lent the $7000 to someone, and then on the morning of his disappearance he agreed to meet that person in a different lot than where he usually parked, under the premise of getting his money back... But something happened... Maybe that person thought about taking him and forcing him to give him some more money. They left that area and it didn't go well... I don't think he's alive and he probably died shortly after he disappeared.
Or they killed him so they wouldn't have to pay him back...
The idea of killing someone worth more than 7,000 dollars is beyond sad...There is no good reason to take $7 thousand out of the bank and then not have something to show or leave a clue that your brother would find out....
I guess they blackmailed him for something and he thought he negotiated his way out. When he didn't make the second payment, the blackmailers caught him at work, moved his car to buy time, and then made him disappear...
And unfortunately, he has killed people for much less...
either way
rest in peace
