Cordova man Robert John Bornos was last seen April 19, 1993, at an Easton bar. Bornos, who went by the nickname "Link," was playing pool with friends in the Choptank Inn along U.S. Route 50.

Bornos told his friends he was not feeling well and walked outside to a friend's truck, according to police. When his friends went to look for him a short time later, the truck was still in the parking lot, but Bornos was nowhere to be found.

Details of Disappearance

Bornos visited the Choptank Inn in Easton, Maryland on April 19, 1993. He went out to celebrate getting a new job, and played pool with friends during the evening hours. Bornos told his companions that he was feeling ill during the course of the game and stepped into the parking lot. He was last seen standing next to a blue vehicle.

Bornos has never been heard from again. His family found his vehicle abandoned in the parking lot of a butcher's shop seven miles from the Choptank Inn approximately one week after his disappearance, but he wasn't reported missing for another five years. There was no sign of him at the scene.

He was close to his parents and sister, but he and his wife fought frequently and the police had had to respond to their domestic disputes. Foul play is suspected in his case; his family believe he's deceased.

Some agencies may list the location of Bornos's disappearance as Cordova, Maryland.

I found these theories... The Charley Project mentions that Bornos and his wife had a difficult marriage and fought frequently, enough to call the police over domestic disputes.

Theory 1: This leads me to some ideas. Could Bornos have been so fed up with fighting with his wife that he decided to skip town and start over somewhere else, like Virginia? Although his parents say it's not like him to stay away from them.

Theory 2: Perhaps Bornos' wife is the one who had enough and killed her husband or had him killed. As far-fetched as it may seem, could there have been a possibility that she poisoned him and that's why he wasn't feeling well while he was playing pool? He maybe he started walking away from the parking lot and started feeling so bad that he stopped and walked away and they just didn't find him. Although Route 50 is a busy road.

Theory 3: Instead of poison, perhaps Bornos had a bad reaction to the alcohol he drank at the Choptank Inn. I don't see any indication that his friends thought he was drunk, but he may have walked away from him and been injured or killed.

Theory 4: The friends Bornos was with that night know more than they let on, perhaps a fight that got out of control and led to the death and subsequent disappearance of Bornos, this to me is probably the most likely scenario. ...
The last theory is for me the closest... friends will always say to cover themselves only something that suits them, discarding all responsibility knowing that they will never find the body or the murderer... it's like in that movie I know what they did last summer...
either way
rest in peace
