Clothing: Decedent was found wearing black cotton trousers with belt; white undershorts; Omega waterproof wrist watch (left wrist); blue ankle-height stocking (left foot). Decomposition suggests 2-8 weeks exposure in ocean.
Condition of Remains: Not recognizable - Decomposing/putrefaction

Circumstances: White male found by lobsterman in the waters of the Bay of Fundy appx. 4 miles off the shore of Cutler Harbor, Cutler, Maine. No distinguishing features noted.

No comparisons listed on Namus.

Perhapse he was in a boating accident?
 
Cutler Harbor is due east of Lake Champlain which is where George Nikita’s final radio contact was reported in January 1971.

The PMI timeline would not fit with unidentified estimation of 2-8 weeks exposure in the ocean. However, the relevance of location and both reported to be wearing an Omega watch might deserve a comparison review.

This is only a suggestion in case PMI timeline estimate could be off a year and MOO only. May not be a strong candidate.

It's funny you should mention Mr. Nikita. His plane was just found in Lake Champlain!


So while his remains aren't officially found yet, it's extremely unlikely that he is Cutler John Doe.
 
I think the mention of him being Uncircumcised and edentulous is new
One part of the NamUs on this man notes that his watch is a Timex Omega, the other section notes that it is an Omega. I don't think there are any older Timex watches that are called Omega models - that would be a trademark violation. It is unfortunate that there's no picture of the watch.

He is now listed as edentulous. This is unusual for a pre-60 individual, but it's possible that he wore dentures at a younger age due to severe dental disease. On the other hand, his body could lose its teeth in the ocean - the ocean ravages a body. I am not sure if the listing means he had no teeth while he was alive, or whether his teeth were lost at sea

Omega watches, especially the Seamaster, are renowned for their water resistance and have also been owned by people who work on the water.
 
PMI off a couple of months but looks like Louis Hogan’s plane could have crashed near the area in May 1972.

He was picking up a new Citabria aircraft from Connecticut to deliver to Lisair (his employer) in Houlton, Maine. The Augusta VOR was out of service and as he attempted to switch to it from the Kennebunk VOR, he became lost in a storm. He placed a mayday call that was picked up by the Portland, Maine airport at 1207 hours which was the last contact with him. It is believed his plane may have crashed in Southwestern Maine or Eastern New Hampshire in poor weather.

I would lean towards them saying he was edentulous in life
