SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — A boy found by the Southport Police Department in August of 2023 after being missing for 10 years is reportedly missing again.

On August 10, 2023, 11-year-old AT Jr. was located by the Southport Police Department after reported missing from Durham County for around a decade.

AT Jr. was found in the company of Dreama Ferguson. AT Jr. was placed in the legal custody of the Durham County Department of Social Services under the temporary supervision of a family member residing in Southport.

AT Jr. is reported missing and believed to be in the company of Dreama Ferguson also known, via social media, as Alexandria Bey. Dreama is known to frequent both Durham and Southport areas.

AT Jr., who was found in the company his mother Dreama Ferguson, was placed by the Durham County Department of Social Services under the temporary supervision of a family member in Southport.

“Since that date, a multitude of attempts to contact the minor child were made by the Department of Social Services to ensure the child’s care and wellbeing,” a news release from the City of Southport states. “The family member declined to provide the child, his whereabouts, or any information during the contact. Durham County DSS contacted the Southport Police Department to file a missing person report.”

AT Jr. is believed to be with his mother, Dreama Ferguson. Ferguson does not have legal custody of him.

AT Jr. was also reported missing when he was one year old and living in Durham County. His birth parents, Dreama Ferguson and Andre Thompson Sr., lost custody of him but never handed him over to the Durham County Department of Social Services. For 10 years, DSS claims they did not know where AT Jr. was.

Detective Matthew Burgess with Southport PD says he received a tip last year that AT Jr. was in the Southport area. By August, the department had located him with his mother, Dreama.

At that time, DSS decided to place AT Jr. in his grandmother, Pamela Ferguson’s, custody. But now, they claim AT Jr. is missing again.

“Since [August], DSS had made several attempts to make contact with the child to make sure he was taken care of and they received no cooperation from the family,” Burgess said.

Pamela Ferguson has been charged with Failure to Report a Child’s Disappearance and Obstructing Justice. It is believed she allowed AT Jr. to leave with Dreama.
