Miscellaneous: Linda Lee St. Germaine, age 12, was reported missing by her mother on February 13, 1973. The child lived with her mother and siblings in a motel room at the Lake Edge Motel. The motel is no longer in operation, but was located on Route 9 between South Junction Road and Snug Harbor Marina, in the town of Peru, New York. Linda was last seen outside of the motel, but failed to come in for dinner. The motel overlooked Lake Champlain, which was entirely frozen during the winter of 1973. Tracks were found on Lake Champlain, and it was presumed Linda had walked across the ice to Vermont, and fell through. A search that night and the following day did not find any disturbed ice. Her body was never found.

Police still seeking info on Clinton County cold case of missing 12-year-old

PLATTSBURGH — State Police are still searching for any information that might solve a missing-child case from 50 years ago in Clinton County.

The incident occurred on Feb. 13, 1973.

Police were called to Lake Edge Motel on Route 9 in the Town of Peru for a report of a missing child.

Linda L. St. Germaine, 12, was last seen at Lake Edge Motel on that day, police said. She was last seen walking alone. She went onto the frozen surface of Lake Champlain, attempting to walk to Burlington, Vt., police said.

At the time St. Germaine went missing, she was wearing ski pants and skates.

The New York State Police Underwater Recovery Team (URT) have been out on the lake multiple times throughout the years attempting to locate any type of evidence regarding the disappearance of St. Germaine who would be 62 years old now.

On February 13, 1973, around 6:20 p.m., State Police members responded to Lake Edge Motel located on State Route 9, in the town of Peru for a missing child. State Police members are still investigating a missing at the time 12-year-old missing female, Linda L. St. Germaine DOB 6/10/1960.
Linda L. St. Germaine, age 12, was last seen at Lake Edge Motel, Peru, NY. She was last seen walking alone, went onto the frozen surface of Lake Champlain, attempting to walk to Burlington, VT.
