A dismembered head was found among the remains located while Cincinnati police and FBI agents were conducting a search for additional evidence connected to a dismembered body of a woman discovered.
[...]
The head was discovered Wednesday morning during the search, but they haven't determined for certain whether it also belongs to the same woman. The head was located "within a few blocks" of where the torso was found, Sammarco said.

Sammarco said it will take "until next week" to determine if they are from the same body.

First link updated that the head is from the torso. Second link specified she was late 20-early 30, died around 11/3-4/2023, and possibly pregnant around 3 years ago.

Hamilton County Coroner Lakshmi Sammarco is holding a press conference regarding dismembered human remains that were located in North Fairmount earlier in January during a search for evidence tied to the torso of a woman found nearby in November 2023. The torso of a yet-unidentified woman was discovered on Nov. 5; two months later, as Cincinnati police and FBI agents were conducting a search of the surrounding area, officials discovered more remains, though forensic data was still pending on whether those remains belonged to the woman found in November.''

Sammarco also said additional items related to body parts were also discovered recently, but she did not specify what.

The torso of a yet-unidentified woman was discovered on Nov. 5; two months later, as Cincinnati police and FBI agents were conducting a search of the surrounding area, officials discovered more remains. Later that day, Sammarco announced that a head had been found, but she didn’t specify if other body parts were also located.

Sammarco said Thursday that the head was found in a steep wooded area blocks away from where the torso was.

“There was no attempt to hide the head,” Sammarco said. “As far as the body, I think the body was visible to the person that actually found the body.”

...

Sammarco said in November she believed the woman had been killed on either Nov. 3 or 4, and she was likely dead before she was dismembered.

On Thursday, Sammarco increased the potential age of the woman to between her late 20s to early 50s, but they still believe she’s on the lower end of that spectrum. She is African American or mixed-race African American, about 5 feet tall and 120 pounds, Sammarco said.

...

The woman’s cause of death is known, but Sammarco declined to share that information with the public.

CINCINNATI —
Police are continuing to ask the public for help identifying the dismembered body of a woman found in Cincinnati's Fairmount neighborhood.

The woman is described as a Black female, around 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with an athletic build. She is believed to be between the ages of 20 to 45.

In review of black females reported missing from September 1st to the date first remains were found November 5th; it’s alarming the number that are missing. I realize some are in the younger age range and likely runaways but 49 is a very large number for a little over 2 months. This is only the ones reported.

Bumping this thread with two related media articles from later in February.

1. Unrelated skeletal remains found in the Fairmount area. Edited to add: ID’d as Ronald King on anMissing thread here at WS. Missing in ‘22, remains found 24 in same area where care had been found abandoned. No cause of death yet released

2. Cincinnati PD Chief pleads for public assistance, Medical Examiner says they plan to do CT analysis and facial reconstruction for Fairmount Jane Doe.

Sleep well, Makaila.

Makaila’s family speaks and some additional photos here of what we could presume were better days before she started experiencing mental health issues. She looks very different than she did In the previous photo shared by LE.
