GUILTY PA- Man kills girlfriend in botched murder-suicide as her children watch, June 2022

from link above:
Police were called to Rementer’s home in Northampton on June 8 by McGrath’s mother, who had received a suicidal call from him hours earlier, the affidavit said. When the officers arrived, they were greeted by Rementer’s 4-year-old daughter, who told them “[Daddy] killed Mommy because she was annoying him and then [Daddy] shot himself accidentally.”

Inside the home, officers found Rementer’s 1-year-old daughter still strapped in her high chair in the dining room. They found Rementer, unresponsive, on the floor of a bedroom with the chord from a floor lamp still wrapped around her neck. She had sustained blunt-force trauma to her face, and was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

In another bedroom, the officers found McGrath lying on the floor, covered in blood, with a 9mm pistol beside him. He was taken to St. Mary Medical Center, where doctors discovered he had suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his face.

This woman was so lonely and wanted a man's attention so badly she put herself and her kids in danger by moving a psycopath into her home with a child *advertiser censored* background. women need to wake up and not be selfish just because you want a man around because you're lonely isn't the right thing to do when you have children to think about first. This happens to much makes me sick. know a person for a while dont let random men around or into the home.

McGrath pled guilty, sentenced to life
Thadius McGrath admitted he killed his girlfriend by beating and strangling her in the Northampton Township apartment they shared. In a phone call to his father from jail, he said he believed he was guilty of first-degree murder.

On Tuesday, Bucks County Court Judge Wallace H. Bateman agreed, finding McGrath guilty of that charge and sentencing him to life in prison in the death of Samantha Rementer.

Thadius William McGrath, 37, of Chatham, Massachusetts was found guilty by Common Pleas Judge Wallace H. Bateman Jr. of first-degree murder, and two counts of child endangerment, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, and two counts of possession of an instrument of crime.

Bateman sentenced McGrath to a mandatory sentence of life without parole for the murder conviction, and consecutive sentences of five to 10 years in state prison and 17 years of probation on the remaining charges.

Rementer, a 31-year-old mother of two, was described by her family as selfless, caring and loving. In victim impact statements, Rementer’s family detailed how the murder devastated their lives, and how it would affect her two daughters, who were home at the time of the murder.

During the degree-of-guilt hearing that began on Monday, Deputy District Attorney Thomas C. Gannon presented evidence that included testimony from Northampton Township Police officers who responded to a home in the 12000 block of Clark Court for a report of a suicidal subject on June 8, 2022.
