SC - Mica Miller, 30 yr old Found Deceased - Pastors Wife's Death Being Investigated, May 2024

Behind the scenes, Mica’s family was actively taking steps to protect her estate as tensions were beginning to escalate. On May 3, 2024, an application was filed by attorney Jarrett Bouchette in Horry County probate court on behalf of Mica’s sister, Sierra Francis. That application sought to appoint Francis as a special administrator of Mica’s estate. Attached to this application were affidavits and exhibits showing why friends and family are actively seeking a full investigation into her death.

The appointment of special administrator was requested to:

• preserve Mica’s portion of the “marital estate”
• to obtain confidential records from Waccamaw Mental Health, South Strand Medical Center/Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and Victim’s Advocacy
• to gain access to and take possession of “any wills, deeds to cemetery plots, and insurance policies, or other Estate related documents in Decedent’s safe deposit box”

According to a memorandum in support of this request, the timing of Mica’s death was very suspicious.

As we previously reported, just prior to her death – on April 15, 2024 – Mica filed for divorce from her husband. As we reported, JP Miller was served these papers on April 25, 2024 — two days prior to her death. The hearing relating to this filing had been scheduled for June 5, 2024 in front of S.C. family court judge Jan Bromell Holmes. At that hearing, Miller’s attorneys hoped to obtain an order which would restrain John-Paul Miller from disposing of, encumbering, transferring, selling, hypothecating, pledging, destroying or otherwise altering the status or value of any marital asset.

Mica also told her sister that JP Miller had been moving assets around to avoid them being included in the marital estates. Specifically, she stated he transferred the deed to their house to the church – and transferred his interest in a local piano bar called ‘Crocodile Rocks‘ to his son.

According to the affidavit, Mica had been gathering evidence in preparation to file for divorce – evidence which would have supported her claims of “abuse, character, his paramours, and associates he ‘paid off’ or blackmailed when she was admitted to the Waccamaw Mental Health facility.”

I just have a hard time believing that a man of God would be capable of doing anything to harm anybody, let alone his wife. I think this is just going to be a sad case of a mental health struggle.

I agree it is hard to believe, but in this case JPM did plenty of "harm" - JMO. Forms of abuse are not just physical.

Who verified it was her voice on the alleged 911 call? Her husband? Her sister? No one? It makes a difference.

Those questions can only be answered by law enforcement, and hopefully will be soon.

The 911 dispatcher wouldn’t know if that was Mica’s voice or some other female impersonating Mica. If the family listened to this 911 call and heard Mica’s voice, they would have likely accepted the sad situation, but they aren’t accepting it as a suicide.

Actually, we do not know that nothing points to murder. We are not aware of anything pointing to murder, but it seems possible, dare I say even likely, that something may have pointed to Mica's death not being from suicide, as 8 days later, it still has not been classified as one. JMO

Yes the absence of any announcement by LE speaks volumes

This was probably the only asset that she had any interest in and he transferred it to the church. Think about that?? He has been using the church his entire life to cover and hide what is going on in his real life. I can't wait for this to explode!! People trusted and believed in this man, they invested in him - think of how many were manipulated and used by this fake man of God. I am incensed!!

Last night I linked a video by Grey Hughes in which he detailed information her close friend had shared about Mica. In those details she mentioned JP had sexually abused Mica and forced her to watch him having intimate relations with others.

If Mica had mental health issues, I could understand that. Whether JP pulled the trigger or not, if half of what we are reading is true, he contributed to her demise.

A man of God wouldn't. But whether he physically harmed her or not, he certainly seemed willing and capable of emotionally hurting her, based on admitted marital infidelity, if nothing else. JMO

Understandable, but how do we know he is a sincere man of God and not a charlatan?

He’s already caused so much harm, from what little we know thus far.

Committing adultery when he was already a pastor and married with five children.

Having had what appears to be an unseemly relationship with Mica when she was just a teenager, eventually leading to the adultery.

What IMO was a very nonchalant and inappropriate announcement of his wife’s death, at the tail end of a church service.

Being seen out with another woman days after his wife’s tragic death, (whether by suicide or murder), even if it isn’t an affair.

I know the New Testament says to avoid even the appearance of evil.

Of course I don’t know him but I do not see a true man of God.

The truth will out.

Does this line in the obituary strike anyone else as strange? "Mica loved her ice bath, nice car, sauna, house, etc." Why would you mention material possessions, unless the writer wanted to point out "look what all i provided her with"? (Also, ice bath?)

There is belief, spread widely through SM, that ice baths are healthy.

Nor use her as a subject of his sermons!! He never protected her.

I'm thinking he was likely served 48hrs prior to her death, if anything. There can be a few days to weeks between filing and service on the opposing party.
