Trial began on 10/1/19 & ended 11/1/19.
Nicaragua has denied extradition back to U.S. They will try him there.
NY – Suspect charged (3/10/18) with 2nd degree murder. Warrant out for his arrest in Broome County.
Could take years to extradite suspect from Nicaragua.

11/1/19 Day 4: Tercero was found guilty of femicide which is known as homicide in the U.S. He could face a maximum of 30 years in a Nicaraguan prison. No word right now on when that sentencing will happen. Tercero has the right to appeal but regardless of that appeal, Tercero still faces a second degree murder charge charge, and there’s a warrant out for his arrest in Broome County. Judge says sentencing within days. Put on Nov. 4th or sometime this week.

*Trial set to begin (@ 1:30pm ET) - PA – Nichole Pumphrey (31), her daughter, Ameriah Emery (10) & Lawrence Cannon (31) possibly BF (Oct. 16, 2018, New Castle) – *Anthony Lavon “Mook” Cooper, Jr. (19) arrested (10/29/18), charged (10/19/18) & arraigned (11/13/18) with 3 counts of criminal homicide, 3 counts of criminal conspiracy, 1 count of attempted murder & 1 count of carrying firearms without a license. No plea entered. Bail denied.

*Trial set to begin (@ 1:30pm ET) - PA - Bryce Kenneth Tompkins (45) (Dec. 25, 1988, New Castle; Dec. 26, 1988 found Hickory Township in the Neshannock Creek in Lawrence County) - *Regis Andrew Brown (59) arrested, charged (Oct. 18, 2018) & arraigned (5/28/19) with criminal homicide, 2 counts of aggravated assault & intimidation of a witness.
During an interview with officials this year, Brown confessed to Tompkins’ murder, saying Tompkins had witnessed one of the burglaries.
Plead guilty (Mar. 2018) & sentenced (Oct. 2018) & is serving a life sentence (w/o parole) for the 1st degree murder & 3rd murder in the deaths of his wife, Michelle Brown (53) & his step daughter Tammy Greenawalt (35) in Erie County.
Strong suspect in eight homicides in northwestern Pennsylvania dating from 1986 to 2016.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 10:30am ET) - KY - Baby (3 mos) (Nov. 9, 2018, Bowling Green) - *Virginia Rae Keabler (20) & for *Nicholas Jewell Nichols (22), (the parents of the child) and *Roger Dale Ramsey (59) & *Ronda Rae Keabler (50) (lived in the loft) were arrested & charged (11/9/18) & arraigned (1/1/19 & 1/28/19) with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Meth), Buy/Possess Drug Paraphernalia, & Criminal Abuse of a Child under the age of 12.
Charged with drug & criminal abuse charges after a report that a 3-month-old baby was being kept in a shed/loft. Loft did not have water & was being heated with gas & electric heaters. The citation says the baby was sleeping in a laundry hamper with a pillow. The sheriff's deputy also saw three meth pipes. Baby was taken into protective custody & taken to the hospital to be checked out.

(May 16, 2018, Sodus; found Oct. 10, 2018) – *Everardo Donoteo-Reyes aka Alberto Ebarado Gutierrez-Reyes (25) (BF) – arrested & charged (5/24/18) with tampering with physical evidence (Class E felony) & indicted & charged (12/17/18) with 2 counts of 2nd degree murder. Plead not guilty. No bond.
Trial was set to begin 9/16/19.
*Federal Indictment (1/10/19) charged & arraigned (1/15/19 with fraud & misuse of a permanent alien card, fraud & misuse of a Social Security card, & unlawful re-entry by a removed alien.
Alberto Reyes, "found her dead body, removed her from her home and buried her." Trail cameras provided by a neighbor show Reyes walking in and out of the woods for five hours with a shovel. He did not admit to killing Selena Hidalgo-Calderon. He did not make mention of Owen.
6/24/19 Update: Next Oral arguments hearing on 7/29. Had hearing on 8/21 re murder.
9/11/19 Update: Plead guilty. Plea hearing on 9/12. Sentencing is set for Nov 7th, 10am. Anticipating that he will a 20 year sentence with 5 year post-release supervision. He waived all rights to appeal as part of his plea resolution. The charges were plead down to two counts of Manslaughter in the first. The Feds could prosecute him at any time for the separate case but he will have to serve his sentence before being deported.

7/1/19 Update: Next status conference hearing for murder & fraud is 7/15. 7/15/19: District Judge Steven Schultz rejected most of the defense’s motion to suppress original interview with LE. Archibeque was clearly interrogating Macias-Moreno about Loh’s disappearance, but the circumstances surrounding the interview “suggest the defendant was not in custody when he made his confession in this case,” Schultz said. Next plea hearing on 8/12. 8/12/19: Plea hearing moved to 9/12.
9/12/19 Update: Plead guilty to 2nd degree murder as an act of domestic violence in the 2018 strangulation death of Madelaine. His plea agreement calls for between 25 & 40 years in prison. The felony-2 offense is classed as a crime of violence. Sentencing has been set for Nov. 15. Macias-Moreno was initially charged with 1st degree murder & animal cruelty; these charges were dismissed under the plea deal. 2nd degree murder is a class-2 felony that carries a sentence between 8 & 24 years, but because Macias-Moreno plead guilty to an offense that is categorized as a crime of violence, the sentencing range became 16 to 48 years. He stipulated to a sentence of at least 25 years, but not more than 40 as part of his plea.

11/15/19 Jury Deliberations Day 3: Jury has another question. The jury is wrestling with some legal terms particularly the difference between an accomplice & conspirator. 11/15/19 Day 10: The judge is holding a private hearing to rule on this new evidence 'prior' to court starting. If the court reaches 5 p.m. before both sides rest, the closing arguments will get pushed to Monday morning. There is no deliberation planned for the weekend. State witnesses: Retired police officer Jonathyn Priest (crime scene expert/blood stain pattern analyst). JB (aka John Doe) (Frazee's fellow prisoner that he solicited to have key prosecution witness & other witnesses murdered). CBI lead investigator Gregg Slater (read a total of 17 letters sent to Bentley, mostly written on napkins, read all of them, and said they appeared to be in Frazee's handwriting; Bentley came forward with these letters only on Monday, 11/11/19). State rests their case. Defense rested their case without calling any witnesses. Defense is arguing for a lesser charge like manslaughter because the DA took Lee's testimony as gospel. Prosecution holds fast for first degree premeditated murder. Judge is deciding. Based on jury instruction arguments, seems like jury will have the option to convict Frazee on lesser charges of second-degree murder and manslaughter instead of just first-degree murder. Instructions will be finalized this afternoon. Closing arguments start on Monday, 11/18.

11/18/19 Day 11: The judge started Monday morning by reading 22 instructions for the jurors. Jury is instructed not to conduct any research on this case and not communicate with anyone about the case until deliberations are complete. Any verdicts must be unanimous. His charges are: 2 counts 1st degree murder (to align with the prosecution’s theories on how he did it), 3 counts of solicitation to commit 1st degree murder, 1st degree felony murder (death during attempted robbery) and charged (4/5/19) with 2 counts of crime of violence (sentence enhancer).
There are six forms of verdict in this case.
Verdict count 1– murder in first degree after deliberation. They answer questions: did he use or threaten use of deadly weapon, did defendant cause death. Both should be signed if guilty. Only one if not guilty. Prosecutors must prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
Verdict count 2 — solicitation to commit first-degree murder (allegations he told Kenney to poison a coffee for Berreth on Sept 23).
Verdict count 3 — murder in first degree felony murder. They answer questions: did defendant use or threaten use of deadly weapon, did defendant cause death. One signed if not guilty. Both if found guilty. Prosecutors must prove beyond reasonable doubt.

Each side got 90 minutes for closing. Closing arguments by Assistant DA Elizabeth Reed (1 hour); Public defener, Adam Steigerwald for Frazee (30 minutes). DA Dan May gave rebuttal (30 minutes). Jury started deliberations at 11:15am MT (8:15pm my time). Judge Scott Sells says he’ll dismiss the jury around 5 p.m. if they don’t get a verdict today. Jury asked to see the security camera image of Frazee leaving Kelsey's condo on 11/22/18. After 3 1/2 hours of deliberations the Jury found Frazee GUILTY on all counts: first-degree murder, solicitation to commit murder, robbery (taking Kelsey Berreth's cell phone) and tampering with a body. Frazee received the maximum sentence. Life without possibility of parole plus 156 years, plus 5 years with parole for solicitation. He was put in cuffs and escorted out.

11/18/19 Day 2: The prosecution rested Tuesday after showing video from Ramirez’s jail house visits with two family friends, where Ramirez showed little remorse when asked about the brutal murder of his adoptive parents. Testimony Tuesday afternoon also included Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies who collected blood samples from the car Ramirez allegedly drove to dispose of the victims’ bodies. And a detective identifying materials the victims were found it that match the description Jose gave to police in his confession. A DNA expert also confirmed the blood belonged to the victims. Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood. Defense rested, Ramirez did not testify. Closing arguments on Tuesday, 11/20.

Plead not guilty-insanity defense. No bond.
Trial started on 11/13/19 & ended on 11/22/19. 14 person jury.

Bond changed (7/12/19) to $500K, back in jail.
Jury trial was to start on 10/15/18, then 7/15/19, then on 10/14/19, & now to start on 12/2/19 & was cancelled.

Sievers (50) arrested & charged (2/26/16) & indicted (5/4/16) with 1st degree premeditated murder & conspiracy to commit 1st degree premeditated murder. Plead not guilty. No bond. DA will seek DP.

11/22/19 Day 3: Before the judge brought out Wright and the jury, the defense brought up an issue about bankruptcy statements being objected to in opening statements. Wright spoke about bankruptcy yesterday so the judge said it is fair game during cross examination today. State witnesses: Curtis Wayne Wright, Jr. Cross examination by Defense Attorney Michael Mummert. Cross was about 2.5 hours. ASA Hunter Hamid on redirect. Defense redirect. Subject to recall by defense. Next witnesses: Annie Lisa (Terry's sister). Dr. Mark Petritis (Close friend of Teresa's & found her in the home). Subject to recall. *Jimmy Ray Rodgers (28) – Trial 10/23/19: Jury found Rodgers guilty of second degree murder, not guilty of conspiracy, guilty of trespassing. Sentencing on 12/12. Motion for new trial-denied.
*Curtis Wayne Wright, Jr. (41) arrested (10/14/15) & charged (10/20/15) & indicted (5/5/16) with 2nd degree premeditated murder. Plead not guilty. Plead not guilty. No bond. Faces up to 87 years to life.
*Derrick Jefferson Spurgeon (38) arrested (12/13/17) & charged (1/5/18) with accessory after the fact to murder drove the boat) Plead not guilty. $500K bond. Trial started on 10/22/19. Jury of 10 men, two women plus five alternate jurors.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 11am ET) – NY – Corinna Paige Slusser (19) (reported missing Sept. 12, 2017, Queens; last seen Sept. 20, 2017 at Haven Motel in Queens; not found) – NOT regarding Corinna's case - *Ishi Woney (23) arrested (10/31/18), charged (federal 11/1/18), indicted (11/15/18), arraigned (11/19/19) & re-indicted (3/12/19) with Mann Act: use of an interstate facility to promote prostitution, transporting person between states for illegal sex acts, sex trafficking by means of force, threats, fraud & coercion & felon in possession of ammunition. Plead not guilty. No bail.
11/1/18: He was appointed a Federal Public Defender; had Detention hearing on 11/17; Bail hearing on 11/2. Indicted on 11/15; arraigned on 11/19. Plead not guilty. Speedy trial extended to 4/18/19. Discovery motions should be completed by 11/30. Defense motions should be filed by 2/26/19; Government response by 3/19/19; defense response by 3/26/19. Status hearing on 3/12/19.
3/12/19 Update: The original 3-count indictment has been superseded by a new 5-count indictment that includes a new sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion charge concerning an additional fourth victim & a felon in possession of ammunition charge. Motions deadline is 3/28, response deadline 4/11. Status Conference hearing on 4/16.
In May 2019, he reached a plea agreement with the prosecution, plead guilty to four of the five charges against him. He is scheduled to be sentenced in Sept. 10, 2019. He faces five years to life in prison. 9/10/19 Update: Sentencing moved to 11/26.

*Sentencing Hearing (@ 1:45pm ET) – WI - Krista Marie Sypher (44) (March 13, 2017, Plover, not found) – *Jason P. Sypher (44) (DH) arrested (8/24/18) & charged (8/27/18) with 1st degree intentional homicide & hiding a corpse. Plead not guilty. $1M cash bond.

Trial was set to begin 8/12/19-cancelled-now set to begin with jury selection on 10/7/19-cancelled as Lott plead guilty (9/18/19).

10/18/19 Sentencing (Day 3): Watched video interview detectives did with Canadian teen who was part of Logan Mott's Instagram chat group. Witnesses: Ms. Barbara Delifus (nurse at Fletcher Middle). Carrie Mott (Logan's mother). Next is Status hearing on 10/22. The Judge will still need to hear from another witness before he imposes the sentence.
10/22/19 Update: A brief status hearing is set Tuesday morning so prosecutors, defense attorneys & the judge will schedule more testimony and closing arguments. Then the judge will pronounce the sentence on 11/1. 10/29/19: Sentencing moved to 11/12.
