When the standoff was over, a female and a 17-year-old were found inside the residence and were brought to a police station as persons of interest, Jennings said. Investigators were trying to determine what happened inside the residence. Police believe there were two shooters involved in the incident, including the individual killed in the initial shootout, Jennings said.

Unbelievable! If I’m understanding correctly, officers were met with gunfire, fatally wounded one individual who was found in the front yard, and were then struck by additional gunfire coming from inside the residence.

So many victims. :(

The deceased suspect was later identified as Terry Clark Hughes, Jr, 39. He was wanted for possession of a firearm by a felon and felony flee to elude, two counts, out of Lincoln County, CMPD said.
Looks like this killer didn't care much about not being allowed to posses a firearm because he was a convicted felon.

In 2012 he was arrested for the same thing.

Terry Clark Hughes Jr., 27, was arrested on the on-ramp to Interstate 40-85 westbound at mile marker 150.
Hughes faces a total of 11 counts, including possession of cocaine, posession of less than 1/2 ounce of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a felon, driving while license revoked and speeding 115 mph in a 55 mph zone.

A Charlotte police officer killed in a shooting that left three other US Marshals task force members dead outside a North Carolina home has been identified.

Officer Joshua Eyer died Monday night from his injuries sustained in the shooting. The three other law enforcement officials killed have not been identified.
Sickening.
The injured and deceased were just trying to help keep the community safe and paid the ultimate price.
Omo.

Rest in eternal peace, Officer Eyer and the three unnamed LEO's.
My utmost condolences to their loved ones.

As bad as the perp's charges were, they apparently weren't enough to keep him locked up for very long !
Hughes was never going to stop in his downward spiral, imo.

I'm wondering what the story is regarding the unnamed female and teen in the house ?
It would appear one of them continued firing at the officers after Hughes was taken down.
Omo.

The report above on the 2012 chase incident indicated that he had outstanding warrants from (4) counties at the time of that event. Considering they were there to serve a warrant, it would appear he was living with the female and the teenager. JMO because we don't know who were residents of the house.
