Great to see, just wish she was charged with abduction and murder as well. That would be just, given the known evidence.

After smoking marijuana, Moody had hoped to have consensual sex with Drexel, prosecutors said. When she resisted, he assaulted her. Moody later told police he strangled Drexel and hid her body.

Her disappearance went unsolved for 13 years until new technology was used to track Drexel’s cellphone and prosecutors got help from recordings of conversations made by Moody’s girlfriend. Drexel's body was found in May 2022 in a four-foot grave 10 miles north of the boat landing.

The new indictments come the same week that a Charleston man who was falsely accused of Drexel’s kidnapping and murder as a teenager sued the federal government for abuse of process and emotional distress. He was falsely arrested for the crime in 2016

Taylor would spend a year behind hard at the Sheriff Al Cannon Detention Center in Charleston on the robbery, but it was a tool the FBI was using to pressure him and build a stronger case. He was eventually released because the FBI couldn’t establish probable cause for charges.

As he was incarcerated, Taylor’s mother Joan was fired and Shaun lost customers at his auto repair business. A pastor in their church stopped talking to them as well

“The FBI, in one brief stroke, had comprehensively and permanently reduced Timothy Taylor’s life and the lives of his family members to smoking rubble,” the lawsuit says.

At one point, Shaun Taylor hatched a plan to confess to Drexel’s killing, take sole responsibility in an effort to bring peace to the family. An attorney said it wouldn’t work, because the FBI would want to recover Drexel’s remains as proof.

In February 2019, Brown retold his story to a journalist, but every detail had changed. The FBI knew Taylor had nothing to do with Drexel’s murder – just as SLED agents told them years prior.

“The FBI watched as Taquan Brown’s credibility collapsed, taking with it their own. They ruled Timothy Taylor out as a suspect, but they were careful to keep that a secret,” McKaig’s lawsuit claims.

By not publicly clearing him, Taylor and his family remained the prime suspects in the public eye, and the bullying and death threats continued.

As of the March 26 lawsuit filing, the FBI has yet to apologize or publicly acknowledge that Taylor had no involvement in the tragic, final weekend of Drexel’s life.

“To this day, the only apologies that the Taylors have received were given to them by the people who suffered and lost the most from this long and senseless human tragedy the parents of Brittanee Drexel,” McKaig wrote

This is pretty incredible stuff. Why is this not national news? SLED told the FBI they had the wrong guy but they drove ahead anyway. Why are there not FBI agents going to prison?

It's a pretty one sided piece, clearly meant to inflame folks against the FBI for the pending law suit. Probably want to take it with a grain of salt or 12.

The FBI had an informant pointing fingers at the Taylors. I feel for the Taylor family and what they went thru, but the FBI didn't pick their name out of a hat.

So glad to see that she has been indicted for something… it should be as a participant, or at least, as an accessory to the kidnapping and murder. I mean, if she carried her cell phone off and disposed of it, she knew what was going on!

I watched this, it is very good. Brit's mom Dawn stated she is taking the urn with Brit's remains in it to court so she can be with her. At the end of the show I was in tears and a bit angry at times. Angry that RDM was ever let out of prison and angry at the FBI for the whole TT fiasco! It is the FBI, the top agency in the USA-to put TT and Brit's loved ones through that is unexcusable! Are they suing? I would! JMO
The FBI hosed this one up badly. Many still have questions. Why remove Detectives off the case? Why so long. Why say RM was in jail in at the time Drexel disappeared then 12 years later say he wasn't?? Many in the McClellanville area believe others were indeed involved. Her, Drexel, Cellphone was said to be in McClellanville. 2 people arguing over it TDT said. Many unanswered question. Also, why burn down a Stash House if you are innocent?? More were involved.

It would seem that this case is wrapped up. But I have to admit, I still have some questions here.

It is all very bizarre. I had nightmares about what happened to her with the T crew, and then bam, they had absolutely nothing to do with it. The fact the Moody brought the FBI to her body and admitted to it does make it seem like he and AV kidnapped her, raped her and murdered her, but I still have many questions, like when the girl from Tennessee was visiting Myrtle Beach and almost got kidnapped, the main suspect was ST, but he wasn't even there. That showed that he was already on the radar before the "Jailhouse Snitch" spoke. All of the families should seek charges against TB for saying the awful things he did about what the T family did. I will always wonder why they were on the radar so early and Moody just got to live his life.

LOWCOUNTRY, S.C. (WCIV) — Angel Vause has plead guilty on two of the three charges in relation to the rape and murder of Brittanee Drexel in 2009.

Vause, has been charged with two counts of giving a false account of the events leading up to, during and after the incident.

She originally told police that she was travelling to her home to get keys from a truck ring while Drexel was being assaulted and killed by Raymond Moody. According to the FBI report, Vause was actually traveling in a different direction and not for the originally stated purpose. She plead guilty on that count.

Additionally, Vause also gave a false testimony saying that Drexel had voluntarily joined Vause and Moody to consume marijuana and cocaine when in fact Drexel was in fact abducted under false pretenses. she pled guilty on that count as well.

I used to have nightmares about this too...because I kind of did the same thing one time. I once took off to the (Pacific) coast for spring break. Issue was, I had a concussion, so I don't actually remember going, just being there...with total strangers.

I ended up being very, very foolish and accepting a ride back to my city from a man I did not know, which put me and another teen (I had just met her) in a very vulnerable situation. I used my street smarts to realize I was in trap house with pimps who had no intention of letting us leave, and I basically name dropped who I was related to, and that woke them up and they could not kick me out fast enough. I just had to use a name they would recognize and be afraid of.

My point being, the scenario so many of us heard about, I kind of lived - so I know how possible it could be....and I feel awful now that I sort of believed it. I hope they have a happy and healthy life and are able to put this behind them

The boy had one arm. How could anyone even think any of those things were possible by looking at him? I remember hearing about them finding the kidnappers, but when I saw his interview on the news.. Yeah. Iirc even his father had a handicap. Someone who thinks the worse about Black people (not anyone on here, the FBI mainly) could believe that scenario. He weighed 100 pounds soaking wet, AND he had one arm. Smfh

I believe that all parties should sue the FBI. They allowed a racist FBI officer to delay years of progress. Years that poor child could have been home, and her killers, real killers were locked behind bars. That racist FBI officer allowed for Brittany's killer to live freely for decades. There's no telling how many people were or could have been harmed while the FBI was lying and playing in her families face. Sue when all. Racism has a price.
