Looking through some older cases, found this article from 1989 on Norma Maynard. It's clipped from Newspapers.com so no subscription needed. A shame for her brothers in this article 10 years later still desperate to know what happened. Reading the article, Occam's Razor points to Norma's son knowing more that he says. And that's being kind.

In this case we cannot talk about the husband because he is no longer here... it is likely that the son knows more than he says, but was there any insurance or will where he would inherit his mother's material things? Would he be bored of living with her? Was he looking for a chance to get her mother out of her life? We cannot blame him, there is no evidence but here at websleuths we know that when it is a case like this the murderer is always the person who knew her best and since the husband had already died it would be the son in this case... it could be that she was bored and he wanted to keep something... in the end he changed states and forgot everything? Only her brothers apparently miss her and want to know about her...
either way
rest in peace
