I thought that the aunt dropped her off? I can’t find the link as it’s all a mess of documents but I thought the aunt said she dropped her off at 830 and ss arrived at 845
The aunt did drop her off. But what wasn't clear to me was how long (if at all) was MS at home alone before SS and/or JS arrived.

But wasn’t dad there in person too?
I believe this was GHI's opinion and not fact. We know that neither JS/SS attended the party so it does not follow that Mr. Sterns Sr. would have attended the party alone.

I think LE wasn't aware that SS was using dad's phone and vehicle. Also, I recall from the earliest discovery that Sterns Sr.'s timeline notes were collected by LE and listed in the Discovery. JMO

But wasn’t dad there in person too?
Can someone please clarify what they know about dad of SS being there?

I did read that CS, Christopher Sterns, got a separate hotel room after SS and JS were told their condo was deemed a crime scene, they also stayed at a hotel. But why CS? I don't understand his involvement AT ALL.....

Was CS at the birthday party? Was CS in the area of Kissimmee on Sunday night? Was CS in the area on Monday?
When did CS arrive? How?
CS and his wife live 2.5 hours away, right???

The morning of 2/26 SS is tracked by vehicle sightings only. His cell phone, and his father's, both stay at the condo. Best we know he never had his cell phone accompanying him in the car until 4:45 give or take, that afternoon, when he heads for the insurance office to join JS.
I find it interesting that he has his father's phone when he has his own cell (Samsung S3 Ultra). Why would he need his dad's phone when he has his own? Also, he told LE in the 2/27 interview that he needed his phone so his dad can get ahold of him. I suppose his dad had to use his wife's phone because SS has his? I'm not understanding his need to have his dad's phone.

LE – That’s OK. We understand. Uhm, in the meantime while we’re waiting for all these things to get sorted out, I am going to hang onto your phone, OK? Uhm, I’ll give it back to you when we’re done. OK. Do you have any questions for us?

SS – Uhm… How long are you going to need my phone, that’s…

LE – I’m not sure. I’m waiting for my supervisor to call me.

SS – My dad, it’s just that my dad is using that to get ahold of me and give updates.

LE – They can call Jenn’s phone.

What would prompt JS to leave so early, and simply hang around the pick up area until it was clear MS was not going to show up, without contacting and entering the school?
Seems like they both like to drop off and pick up Maddie way too early, doesn't it?

I think JS and SS wanted to put as much distance between themselves and the crime scene (condo) as possible. They showed up at grandmas work, on purpose. They called LE from her office, probably to prevent/delay, LE from searching the condo/crime scene. JS appeared cool, calm and collected, but that’s all an act. She was nervous as hell, which is why she showed up at the school 1 hr early. She couldn’t contain her nervous energy, I’m the same way. So sitting around waiting for your world to implode, wouldn’t be easy. They were both (SS/JS) probably bouncing off the walls. My guess is SS told JS everything and she, being the “mom” in the “relationship” helped him to clean up his “mess”. I mean she already knew about his relationship with MS, so what’s one more secret between these 2 incredibly selfish, pathetic individuals. Her knowledge of the inappropriate relationship between SS/MS, could explain why she lied to LE and helped him cover up this crime. The revelation of his crimes, would reveal her own. This is all just my opinion.

Did he borrow his dad’s car and dad accidentally left the cell phone in? The Ms went “ missing” and ss couldn’t leave and dad wanted his phone back? So dad drove to Kissimmee and by that point they were kicked out of the house? So they all drove to a hotel?

Here are my notes from the documents covered in the Grey Hughes videos posted upthread (of the things I found important).
:)

Jennifer’s Initial Statement to Police - 2/26/2024

At approximately 8:00 AM, she observed Madeline getting ready for school. Stephan took Madeline to school at approximately 8:30 AM and dropped her off near the intersection of Town Loop Blvd and Hunter’s Park Lane. At approximately 4:00 PM, she went to the school in an attempt to pick up Madeline, however, she never came out of the school. She searched the area for Madeline and after not finding her, she went to her mother’s office.

Stephan’s Initial Statement to Police - 2/26/2024

At approximately 8:25 - 8:40 PM, he dropped Madeline off about a block away from her school and watched her walk in the direction of the school. As he was driving away, he saw what appeared to be Madeline searching through her book bag. He then drove to a vape shop (but it was closed) and to his residence. He was home for approximately one hour before he went back to the vape shop to buy vape juice and then returned home and hung out with JS. He then ran errands and returned home at approximately 2:30 PM.

Stephan’s 2nd Statement to Police (1st Digitally Recorded) - 2/27/2024

He currently lives in North Port, FL but comes to Kissimmee occasionally to spend time with Jennifer and Maddie. He arrived at their house on 2/25/2024 at about 8:45 PM. When he arrived, Jennifer was still at work and he directed Madeline to get ready for bed (which consisted of taking a shower). When Jennifer came home, she told Stephan she wanted to sleep in and told him to sleep upstairs with Maddie. Stephan woke up the next morning between 7:00 - 7:15 AM to get an “early start” and grab food at McDonald’s before school. He and Madeline left the house between 7:30 - 7:45 AM and headed towards McDonald’s at 14001 Town Loop Blvd. On the drive there, Madeline slept the whole time and said she didn’t want anything from McDonald’s when they arrived. He then drove past McDonald’s towards the school and dropped Maddie off on the right side of the road, near the community south of the State Road 417 Overpass between 8:20 - 8:40 AM. According to Stephan, Maddie was going through a phase, was embarrassed by his vehicle, and didn’t like to be dropped off at the school in it. Maddie told Stephan she was going to hang out with her friends. Stephan watched in the rearview mirror as Madeline rummaged through her backpack as she walked in the direction of the school. He assumed she was looking for her headphones but later realized she’d left her phone at home. When presented with a map, he advised detectives that he dropped her off at the intersection of Lilac Cove Lane and Town Loop Blvd. He said it was maybe the 5th or 6th time he’d dropped her off and it was common for MS to ask to be dropped off near the school. He said Maddie enjoyed the cold weather and was wearing a hoodie when he dropped her off. When asked if he’d made a U-turn at any point, he said he made a U-turn at the church parking lot to “try to sell her on McDonald’s one more time” because he was still hungry. When asked to show him on the map, he said he was bad at reading maps and said he usually takes John Young Parkway. He explained that he uses landmarks because he doesn’t know street names. When asked if Jennifer was home when he returned home (prior to his trip back out to the vape shop), he said he thought so but then said he wasn’t sure because Jennifer had a blood appointment at some point during the day. He apologized and said “sorry, everything is a blur”. He then said he believed JS was home because she was trying to sleep in as much as she could because she was “messed up” with her work schedule.

Jennifer’s 2nd Statement to the Police (1st Digitally Recorded) - 2/27/2024

She confirmed she had a new job and had not attended Maddie’s party because she was at work. She said Maddie had a “makeshift room” in the living room that she only used to hang out in but never slept in.

[Detectives described this room as a portion of the living room turned into a bedroom with a folding divider between the bedroom space and the kitchen/dining room.]

She said sleeping arrangements depended on everyone’s schedule the next day. Sometimes they all slept in her king bed, other times SS slept upstairs alone and she and Maddie slept in her bed, and other times she would send Maddie and SS to sleep in the upstairs bedroom if she needed a good night’s sleep.

She said she left home at 2:30 to pick up Maddie from school and usually waited an hour in the pick up line. After the bell rang, she noticed Maddie wasn’t one of the first students to come out like she normally was. She left at approximately 4:10 when she realized she was holding up the pickup line. She went to check her mother’s office to see if Maddie had walked there but was told it was still too early for Maddie to have arrived. She then parked on Hunters Park Lane to see if she would see Maddie walking. She then contacted one of Maddie’s friends to see if MS was with her, and her friend said she hadn’t been in their first or second periods that day. She then drove back to the school to confirm with the attendance office, but the school was already closed when she got there. She drove back to her mother’s office and emailed a few of Maddie’s teachers. One of the teacher’s responded to say that Maddie had not made it to his class or to school at all that day. She said she then called 911.

After Stephan heard Maddie hadn’t shown up at school, JS says he met her at her mother’s office, where they waited for LE to arrive. She said she’d brought Maddie’s phone with her when she went to pick her up from school. Her sister and niece looked through Maddie’s phone for JS after she was determined to be missing but didn’t find anything weird. After they left her mother’s office that evening, they looked for Maddie in the Hunters Creek area and returned home at approximately 8:00 - 9:00 PM. When asked if they went back out that night, she said Stephan had gone back out in the middle of the night in her car.

Learning that Maddie’s grandparents or mom usually dropped her off to school definitely makes me agree that SS premeditated her horrific murder.

Maddie’s diagnosis of bipolar disorder does make me concerned that her symptoms of child sexual abuse, the moodiness, somnolence, inability to focus and lack of motivation to complete her school work were misidentified and missed. If true it is very possible that she never received the treatment, care and protection that could have been offered by her healthcare the and social and child protective services.

It is bad enough that SS was even in their home but then he has the audacity to hang out in the living room, which he knew was her makeshift bedroom. Again, why did SS have an actual bedroom whereas MS, a growing adolescent with her needs for privacy and space, didn’t? It was her mother’s house and she had more rights to be there than him.

Why did JS tell Maddie’s friends she dropped Maddie off that morning? Why also lie to them? It seems like she didn’t want people to know that SS dropped Maddie off or at least that he dropped Maddie off alone. Why? She seems to trust him right? She invited him back to her home so why was making this information known publicly or to Maddie’s friends a concern for her? Especially when the priority should have been looking for her daughter, not covering for someone.

Well why did CS also visit his son in jail??

SS volunteering to walk the dog and then leaving before JS did before her doc appointment gives me the impression he was trying to prevent JS from seeing Maddie in his vehicle.

Him calling at 10:18 just to pointlessly mention there was no McDonald’s trip makes me wonder if he used that odd excuse to call to see if anyone from Maddie’s school tried to contact yet about her daughter’s absence. He, like many others, probably wasn’t aware that the school didn’t contact parents/guardians about their children’s absence until the end of the day.

Still, I don’t understand why Maddie had to come back home if JS would be too tired to take her to school the next day and worse, she kicked MS out of her room and told her to sleep with SS instead. Why couldn’t Maddie just continue staying with her grandparents? I think based on how Maddie seemed to be improving overall, academically, emotionally and physically since SS has been gone JS must have thought to herself that SS was most likely the problem? I mean even she and Maddie were getting along better. I wouldn’t be surprised if JS noticed a behavior change in Maddie almost immediately upon returning home Sunday night so why disrupt and put SS back in her environment? If JS wasn’t going to kick SS out, which she should have done, the least she could have done is let MS stay with her parents or let them take her to school. MOO

I wonder why JS went so early? Has that been discussed anywhere? I'm not remembering if it was. I know I wouldn't want to just be sitting there waiting that long, especially if I was already "TIRED".
I wonder how big the school is and if it is really competitive because parents picking up their kids have to get their vehicles in a single file line?

That could make the wait to get your children in the car really long and maybe the earlier you get their the further up in line you are? For those who hate waiting in line and just want or need to get their kids and go coming early could be beneficial and the less people you have in front of you the less likely other families or their kids could end up holding you or the line up for whatever reason comes up.

MOO and biased because this was how my little cousin’s pick-up routine was at her school.

MOO... CS is the account holder for the cell phone. I assume a family/multiple plan, as SS is not employed. CS is the owner of the vehicle SS drove.

Moo..the search warrant was obtained for cell phone account holder and owner of the vehicle. I assume the father is funding/supporting his unemployed son.

I do not believe SSs father is involved.
Moo..

I don't believe he's involved either, but it is interesting that he came up (down? I don't know Florida) immediately and was in a hotel room at the same place as SS/JS. Of course, it might just be that they needed him to pay for the rooms.

I think the phone tracked to the hotel or SS had a credit card issued under his father's name he used. Search warrants will be issued in the account holder/owners name.

Clearly, LE knows SS was using the phone, it was in his possession. SS turned the phone over to police. SS was seen on video driving the car owned by his father. JS and SS discussed the vehicle in several conversations with LE.

ETA... The podcasters are reading from reports, search warrant and supporting documents. These are being identified by the owner information listed on the search warrant. I'm not sure the podcasters are taking a timeout to clarify, the phone and car were clearly in possession and being used by SS. I think it would be much easier to understand reading the documents myself.
Moo...

They clearly didn't think it would blow up like it did,and that LE would go to their apt,and search their electronic devices. It was supposed to be she vanished after " We took her took her to school, We dropped her off close to the school" "and yeah that's it". MOO

I've not read or listened yet to any of the docs that report Mr. Sterns Sr. (CS) in the area and/or staying at the same hotel. But I do recall from the docs that JS/SS stayed at a hotel located about 30 mins from the Soto residence after LE took custody of the condo to execute a search warrant. (IMO, I got the feeling that LE was surprised that JS would choose to stay a distance away from home when her missing child could surface at anytime). As observers, we now know that MS showing up at home was never going to happen.

^^That said, I think it makes perfect sense that Mr. Sterns Sr. (CS) would have traveled to Kissimmee sometime (post Monday) after learning that his adult son, allegedly dropped MS off at school, and that she never made it to classes, and was in fact missing. I think we need to remember this had been longtime relationship where SS had been in MS's life for more than half of her life, her friends reported she loved him, and they were close. This is likely the image SS's parents had too.

I think traveling to be with JS/SS at what for most would be an excruciating time would be the gesture of any able parent/grandparent to support their adult child/family.

Unfortunately, I'm sorry to say that I'm still thrown off when assessing what's truly a normal act of human compassion, because JS never did fit what one expects from a mother whose only child is missing!

On the other hand, SS immediately started "acting" the part. I don't doubt this mimicking behavior by SS has been used for most of his life to control his father (or anybody known to provide for his needs). MOO

Seems like they both like to drop off and pick up Maddie way too early, doesn't it?
SS having his father’s phone and car IMO seems possibly an element of premeditation? Of what is not clear. MOO

We know CS spoke with police but I wondered why not to his mother?

Yes!^^^….. and add to that JS had apparently requested SS to get MS to school that morning. So what role does that mean for her?

Still want to know exactly when that request was made to have SS take MS to school, and by whom. I hope cell, text, and other electronic devices CCTV, video, etc. will help clarify that. Since it is probably IMO a fool’s errand to believe much of what has been said by them.

IMO SS also having his father’s car and phone that day (instead of the ‘hoopty / hooptie’…. whichever vehicle that is) …. also seems to be another possible element of premeditation? MOO
