I personally lean on the revenge attack. I think he was set up and to go there and I think his friends may be in on it or he put his trip up on his Social media site and its put him on the radar linked to his past supposed machete, golf clubs gang attack.

That crime that occurred was extremely brutal and gives the vibes of gang wars.

It was rumoured on-line was smug in court about it and you know there are huge gang wars up north maybe he had a price on his head.

How well did he know his travelling companions? Rumoured he wasn't that sure about going? Did he fear revenge? Not trust his friends he went with? Instincts?

Could he be set up and the friends deflected the real final conversation. All these days have passed and not found in that vicinity so she have lied to buy time for the so called hit gave the men time to leave the island?

Yes it's all speculation but plenty of rumours and talk he was a troubled lad and his female companion has an apparent rumoured rep of being a dealer etc.

I can't help but wonder why he used his 1 percent to not say get me help or for her to say that's it I'm getting you help now stay there as.tour phone is pinged here. It was a time.wasting call for hwr to.just listen to him say give cut my leg, etc.

It's just the call was around 8 the police weren't alerted till 9. They obviously are not close enough if she didnt do an.emergency call then. Maybe they are just friendly aquaintances not so much friends.

It just is possible her intents could be to lead him down a dark path. Anyone in life who deals with drugs, regular and mixes in violent circles is not going to have an easy life.

I truly hope he turns up and is simply just disorientated and dehydrated. But time is closing in for a likely happy ending
Bbm.

I can't see this at all. He comes from Oswaldtwistle, a sleepy small town near Blackburn. If people wanted to take him out, they would do so locally. They wouldn't have the nous to wait until to he was in Tenerife.

You're correct. Extremely unlikely that any 'revenge attack' would take place abroad in these circumstances. However, many small sleepy towns are plagued by drugs and crimes related to them, especially since county lines have become more common. That's the first thing that came to my mind when I read the machete attack story anyway.

And how would this be different than having a small backpack or sling? Not a problem in any case.
I don't think anyone was suggesting that Herat. I was suggesting that it's unusual to see young men in the U.K. carrying these bags. It wouldn't happen(I think) in my area. Although, I could be wrong. On holiday, maybe so.

I can understand taking a man bag to a rave as it would hold essential items next to you such as Mobile phones, money etc and still able to dance.
it doesn’t state what sort of bag he had, just that he was carrying a black bag.
I wouldn’t have thought taking a ruck sack to a rave would be ideal. JMO

Did he cut his leg on cactus? Could there be poisonous cactus up there?

Not poison.
But bacterial infection with tiny spikes lodged in bare flesh.
He was wearing shorts.

From the link:

"A secondary bacterial infection had set in on top of joint inflammation."

Jay Slater search teams scour ravine: British police offer to help hunt for missing teenager, 19, but Spanish cops decline as new images show officers searching mountain with drones and sniffer dogs

Lancashire Police released a statement regarding Jay's disappearance earlier today, saying it had offered to provide additional support to officers on the island.

'First and foremost, our thoughts are with Jay's family at this time.

'They must be going through the most distressing ordeal not knowing what has happened to their loved one.

'We have specialist officers who are continuing to support Jay's family.

'Whilst this case falls outside the jurisdiction of UK policing, we have made an offer of support to the Guardia Civil to see if they need any additional resources.

'They have confirmed that at this time they are satisfied that they have the resources they need, but that offer remains open and they will contact us should that position change.

'Once again, our thoughts remain with Jay's family and friends at this distressing time.'

I accept what you are saying re locally in regards to drugs and a revenge attack. Can't see why that would move to Tenerife. But, you never know.
Ah no, I absolutely don't think it's a revenge attack or that any trouble from the UK would follow him to Tenerife. It would have to be an insane amount of money for that which is exceedlingly unlikely!

Guardia Civil reject offer of help from Lancashire police in search for Jay Slater

Spanish police say they have the resources it needs for hunt for 19-year-old who was last heard from on Monday

On Friday, police, firefighters and search and rescue personnel combed a vast area in and around the village of Masca. Emergency workers met in various locations throughout the day, combing bushes, overgrown terrain, hillsides and rivers but failed to find the missing teenager.

On the fifth day of the hunt for Slater, search teams paid close attention to a river called Barranco Madre del Agua at the bottom of a ravine, where personnel carefully searched through fallen dead trees.

They later moved to other areas, focusing much of their resources in an area near Rural de Teno park.

Search and rescue looked through dead palm trees covering a river at the bottom of the hillside near to the Airbnb property he had reportedly been driven to.

In the phone call, Lucy said that she strongly told Jay to turn around and go back to the accommodation. He might not have known exactly which way that was but he still might have tried to do what she suggested.
That might not have been the best advice.

Just confirmed the trail is in fact in the Teno Rural Park so his Snapchat may well give that location option.
Get that trail checked!
Reviews of that trail make it sounds dangerous for an inexperienced hiking partier.

I haven't read the entire discussion - but has it been reported why he took that trail?

He took the trail because it was near the bus stop, or because someone suggested it? Did his phone app say it was a 3 hour hike without mentioning that it's possible to get lost in rough terrain?

His mum says there’s no way he’d have gone across mountains. His stepdad says he asks for lifts to the barbers 200 metres away from home because he’s lazy. Paraphrasing. It seems unlikely he was up for a mountain hike, unless he wasn’t thinking straight.
