The Otter Tail County Sheriff’s Office continues its extensive search for 79-year-old Robert “Bob” Shaw, who went missing from his rural Henning home early Saturday morning on June 22nd.

Efforts to locate Shaw have been substantial, involving a wide range of resources:

– State Patrol and National Guard aircraft

– Civil Air Patrol and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol aircraft

– Hundreds of local volunteers, firefighters, and specialized search and rescue teams equipped with artificial intelligence technology

People who have been diagnosed with dementia react in ways that are irrational compared to the average person. The probability that he may have scared himself into a hiding spot, not moving, until eventually passing due to starvation, dehydration, or hyperthermia is incredibly high. How he may have ended up where he is currently, isn't a clear thought in my mind, although I am sure that this wasn't a maliciously incited disappearance. I wish for the best.
