This is a very disturbing interview with members of her family. They suspected abuse in her home and say they reported their concerns to CPS 7-10 times in the past 8- 12 months.

I'm bumping for Na’Ziyah Harris. Why is her story not wide spread, national news?
It is very saddening to see that these family members report multiple CPS reports being made. Again, what more can people do if CPS fails to act? Call 911 and in the case of children in school, perhaps report it to the school guidance counselor? Contact the local DA or child advocacy office?
It is also appalling that it took a month before local police were notified. Yet the school district said the Marshalls were a part of the investigation early on.
Despite what it seems, with the word suspects mentioned and areas of water being searched, God, I pray Na'Ziyah is found safe and unharmed. The still from the school bus, she looks so tiny and something I can't quite out my finger in.
I just want to hug her and protect her.

I am so angry. From listening to things elsewhere,..
IMO, this child is a victim of sexual assault and family members who loved in the home with her allowed a registered sex offender to be around her and other minor children.

Brief report on WDIV news at 4:00PM yesterday. Search teams have returned to the Rouge River further south than previously. Earlier search was near 7 Mile; yesterday they were searching near 6 Mile.

I wonder how much money and resources have been spent in this search for Na’Ziyah. It’s such a shame that we can sometimes only agree to take things seriously as a “reaction” to something bad. What about proactivity? If the money and resources were spent on social services, on supporting kids like Na’Ziyah, would she still be missing right now?

The facts of this case are of course not known, but what little has come out in MSM implies to me that LE doesn’t think this was a random abduction. If she ran away, or was trafficked, or harm came to her by someone who knew her… it just seems like something could have been done to help this little girl earlier, and maybe we wouldn’t be here now.

I agree. Other family members reported that they had made at least 8 reports to Child Protective Services about conditions within her home. How were each of those reports handled?
The way the school handled this from the beginning is such an injustice to Na'Ziyah. A month missing, no contact, and then they decide we need to do more.
Everyone should know Na'Ziyah's name and that she is missing. She's still missing after 3 months and she has 2 pages here and very little MSM coverage.

DETROIT (WWJ) -- There's new information today in the case of missing 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris.

According to the Detroit News, a Detroit Police investigation led them to a suspect: a 41-year-old Wayne County Jail inmate...

Here's the link to the above-mentioned report from The Detroit News. It is for subscribers' only and may have a paywall. The article goes into depth about the alleged suspect in the disappearance of Na'Ziyah Harris.

Detroit — The investigation into a 13-year-old girl who disappeared more than 10 weeks ago was initially stonewalled by her classmates, the Detroit Public Schools Community District police chief said...

DPSCD Police Chief Labrit Jackson said the investigation stalled at first because Na'Ziyah's classmates withheld information from police.

"Sometimes they may think they're helping a friend by withholding information but they're not," Jackson said. "The initial roadblock was a lack of cooperation by the students; she had told them that she'd planned on running away, but her classmates didn't tell us that initially. I don't know if they're being totally forthcoming now. Kids are extremely loyal to each other."...
No no no they are not going to blame her little friends. Reports of abuse against this child should have been taken seriously by the adults in charge.

Right! It's the detectives job to get to the bottom of the story when the truth or whole story is not being told. CPS and the school police really dropped the ball on this.
She could have been saved. Instead a few people who care are screaming her name. Unfortunately mass media is not hearing it.

Nothing new has been shared regarding Na'Ziyah's disappearance. She is a little 13 year old black girl. And not many people know her name. Not many people know her story.

IMO, The facts behind the turmoil and abuse she suffered before going missing can't be shared here because main stream media has not talked about nor dug deep enough into her disappearance. I have followed at least 2 cases of missing 13 year olds whose bodies were found within days of their disappearance. Their names and faces are widely known. No child should be taken from their family in this manner.

Yet not many people know Na'Ziyah's story.

Na'Ziyah has been missing since January 9. The Detroit Public Schools police waited until February 14 to notify Detroit Police.

Both this article and video are from May 23, 2024.

Makes me wanna holler.

I still think about her & hope that she is in a good place where there is no harm, no abuse, no sexual attacks, etc., but I SMH.
Hope and prayers going up...

...Warrant submitted

The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed to Local 4 on Thursday morning, Aug. 15, 2024, that Detroit police have submitted a warrant request in this case.

Prosecutors are currently in the process of reviewing that request.

This update suggests police believe they have gathered enough evidence to charge someone in connection with Na’Ziyah‘s disappearance.

The exact charges requested in the warrant are unclear...

Detroit — Wayne County prosecutors said Thursday they're considering whether to file charges in the case of Na'Ziyah Harris, a 13-year-old Detroit girl who has been missing since she reportedly got off her bus more than seven months ago.

"WCPO has a warrant request that is being reviewed and we are continuing to work on it," Assistant Prosecutor Maria Miller said of the Wayne County Prosecutor Office's probe into Na'Ziyah's Jan. 9 disappearance after the seventh grader at the J.E. Clark Preparatory Academy reportedly got off her school bus near Cornwell Street and Three Mile Drive on Detroit's east side but never made it home.

Detroit police officials confirmed they've sent a warrant request seeking charges in the case, but declined further comment...

“We are prepared very soon to make an announcement on this case,” Detroit police Chief James White said Thursday during a Board of Police Commissioners meeting.

Detroit police Commissioner Tamara Smith asked White for an update during the meeting, citing a resurgence of interest and false information circulating on social media.

“It is not going to be the desired outcome that any of us want,” White said during the meeting. “And I have to stop there as Madame Prosecutor is going to probably start ringing my phone here in a minute.”

DETROIT (WXYZ) — The man suspected in the disappearance of 13-year-old Na'Ziyah Harris is already in custody on another case, according to Detroit Police who have not identified the man.

But loved ones of the teen believe it's the same man who was in a romantic relationship with another one of Na'Ziyah's relatives and is a registered sex offender with a conviction involving a sex crime against a minor.

Article continues at link. The family believes it is the man they have always suspected.
