I'm not convinced it was "carefully planned". I think it's possible he went round there to scare and punish Louise, expecting her to be alone in the house. It all went pear-shaped when the others turned out to be there and it escalated. There's no way he could have expected to get away with a triple murder like this.
I don't think he planned to get away with it. I think the goal was to punish and destroy his ex, and he achieved that goal. I don't know if he even cared what happened to him next, as long as she was destroyed.

So… he’s paralysed and will probably never walk again. He shot himself with the crossbow and severed his spinal cord. Oh dear.

Scuse the source.

I don't know why but I hadn't really thought about this before, but if a prisoner can't look after themselves (toilet use, washing etc) they must have carers who help them?

Specialist equipment, such as hoists and personal care are provided by the Local Authority within the prison setting. Under the Equalities Act, prisons in the UK are required to provide reasonable adjustments for disabled inmates (e.g. ramps).

How/or will that injury affect him going on trial/being imprisoned?
hopefully he will plead guilty and either appear in person or remotely for sentencing. He's going to have to live with what he's done for a long time, his disability will be a constant reminder to him, now reliant on others for his basic needs and with no personal freedom. oh dear how sad, never mind.

Reading that then, and from the drone pic, it seems he was holed up in this little wooded area about 60x80m. I'd wondered why he'd picked such an open place as a cemetery, but possibly there was the potential to hide out in there for a while, and maybe escape at some point?

It also seems odd he kept the bulky crossbow with him, and assembled. If any members of the public had come across him rather than the police I wonder would he have turned it on them rather than himself?

The wife of BBC racing commentator John Hunt died of stab wounds while his two daughters had fatal crossbow bolt injuries, an inquest has heard.

A member of the public had called the Met telling call handlers they had received a text from Hannah telling them to call the police as she, as well as her mother and sister, had been tied up.

Hannah then rang 999 herself at 6.58pm, telling emergency services that herself and her mother and sister had been shot. She told police the name of the person responsible and requested an ambulance, the inquest heard.

Upon arrival, emergency services found Hannah still alive in the doorway ‘shot through the chest with a crossbow bolt’ that remained in her chest.

When they turned to the adjacent room, Carol and Louise were found with injuries. Both were dead on arrival, the court heard

It says Hannah called "the Met" first and spoke to "call handlers". Who does the Met refer to here?

This is just horrific to read. What an awful way to die.

I feel sorry for Hannah’s friend who received that message to - it must have been horrific and I’m sure she’ll keep running over it in her head.

Makes me worry that police perhaps didn’t take the first call seriously - if Hannah’s had to call a second time. All moo and not pointing any fingers…

I’m not saying the police/friend didn’t act quickly on receiving the calls - just wondering how she was able to make the calls at that stage but not earlier.
