A 32-year-old woman is in a life-threatening condition after being stabbed at the Notting Hill Carnival, the Metropolitan Police has said.

The force says it is aware of two other people who have been stabbed during the west London festival - including a 29-year-old man and a 24-year-old man.

[…]

Issuing an update on Sunday night, the Met said 90 arrests have been made for a range of offences and "15 officers have been assaulted".

"Hundreds of thousands of people came to Notting Hill Carnival to enjoy a fantastic celebration," the Met said.

"Our officers have been on duty working to keep them safe as part of a very carefully planned policing operation.

"Regrettably, a minority came to commit crime and engage in violence."

The force said a section 60 order, which gives officers additional powers to search suspects, would be in place until 02:00 BST.

Three men have been arrested over the stabbing of a 32-year-old mother who the Metropolitan Police believes was caught up in a fight between two groups of men at Notting Hill Carnival.
The Met said the woman, who was with her child at the time of the attack at the west London event, remains in a critical condition "fighting for her life" in hospital.
One of the men, aged 20, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and violent disorder.
The others, aged 24 and 22, were arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. All three remain in custody.
The force said the woman had gone to the carnival with her young child "to have fun", but "initial enquiries suggest the woman got caught up in the middle of an altercation between two groups of men".
It added investigators were not clear if she knew the men.

Shakiel Thibou, 20, of Hammersmith, was charged with attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.
His brothers, Sheldon Thibou, 24, and Shaeim Thibou, 22, both of Fulham, were also charged, including with violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker. All three were remanded into custody to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court later.
Sheldon Thibou was also charged with possession of a stun gun.

A mother who was stabbed while attending Notting Hill Carnival with her young child is in a coma and may lose her leg, a court has heard.
Cher Maximen, 32, remained "fighting for her life" in hospital after being injured at the west London event on Sunday evening, police said.

On Wednesday the court heard Ms Maximen tried to intervene in a fight at the west London event while with her three-year-old daughter and other family and friends, and was stabbed in the groin.

Ms Maximen is in a coma after she lost 20 units of blood and one of her lungs collapsed, and she may also need to have her leg amputated, the court was told.

What I cannot understand is why the victim even tried to intervene in the thugs' fight?

Did she know them?
Were some of them her acquaintances/relatives?

The only way it seems right would be to call a Police officer.
I read there was massive Police force there.

Never ever get involved in fights with knives.
Run!!!
As quickly as your legs can carry you.
Such fights are lethal.

My Goodness!
What a tragedy :(
I wish the poor woman to recover.

"The unnamed woman was stabbed shortly before 6pm on the Golborne Road where she appears to have been caught up in an incident between two groups of men. She remains in hospital in a 'critical condition'.

On Wednesday morning, the suspect – 20-year-old Shakiel Thibou – appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court charged with her attempted murder, violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

Astonishingly, Thibou's two brothers – Shaeim, 22, and Sheldon, 24 – were also arrested at Carnival, both charged with, among other things, assaulting an emergency worker."

Man and woman die after separate Notting Hill carnival incidents

Cher Maximen was with three-year-old daughter when stabbed and chef Mussie Imnetu had head injuries

A mother and a chef who worked under Gordon Ramsay have both died after they were attacked in separate incidents connected to the Notting Hill carnival.

Cher Maximen, 32, was with her three-year-old daughter and other family and friends on Sunday when she was stabbed in the groin in broad daylight after she tried to intervene in a fight.

Mussie Imnetu, 41, a chef visiting London from Dubai, was found unconscious with a head injury outside Dr Power restaurant in Queensway at 11.22pm on Monday.

On Saturday, the Metropolitan police said despite the best efforts of medical staff, Maximen had died that morning. Imnetu was pronounced dead on Friday.

Omar Wilson, 31, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to Imnetu. Shakiel Thibou, 20, was charged with attempted murder in relation to Maximen. Both cases are being treated as murder investigations.

Police are seeking help to piece together Imnetu’s movements on Monday before he was attacked. He was seen leaving the Arts Club in Dover Street at 1pm and arrived at Dr Power restaurant at 10:30pm.

Police have also appealed for people who visited Dr Power restaurant between 10pm and 11pm to contact them “urgently”, adding that they want to speak to customers who tried to help stop the attack.

They also want to speak to anyone who may have spoken to Imnetu or others who took photos or videos in the venue at the time. Imnetu, who was the head chef at the Arts Club in Dubai, was visiting London on a business trip.

Double Notting Hill tragedy as chef who worked with Gordon Ramsay and mother, 32, who was stabbed in front of her toddler daughter both die of injuries sustained in separate carnival attacks

A court heard how Cher was stabbed with a 'Rambo-style knife' and suffered a cardiac arrest, after losing 20 units of blood and one of her lungs collapsed

Three brothers have appeared at the Old Bailey in relation to the murder of a 32-year-old mother who was fatally stabbed at Notting Hill Carnival last month.

Shakiel Thibou, 20, from Hammersmith, west London, appeared via video-link from HMP Belmarsh, charged with murder, violent disorder and possession of a knife.

His brothers Sheldon Thibou, 24, and Shaeim Thibou, 21, appeared via video-link from HMP Wandsworth facing lesser charges.

Shakiel Thebou is also charged with possessing a knife in a public place, and violent disorder. Sheldon Thibou, also from Hammersmith, and Shaeim Thibou, from Fulham, are both charged with violent disorder and assaulting an emergency worker.
All three defendants were remanded into custody.
A provisional trial date was set for 24 February 2025.

"Prosecutor Alistair Richardson said:

'On 25 August this year at Notting Hill Carnival Cher Maximen was present with a group of friends and her three-year-old daughter.'

He added that after the alleged attack,

'she had serious injuries and went into cardiac arrest, and was taken to St Mary's Hospital where she underwent two major operations'.

'Those injuries proved to be unsurvivable and on 31 August she died'."
