Amazing photos! So, is that little ledge with that bit of bush growing on it - in the middle of the first photo and in the lower middle of the second photo - where Gary lay?
I also recall that someone had posted a comment upthread (on one of the previous threads), when some photos of the recovery operation were put up, that they thought they could see a pink and purple shirt in the area where the police were doing the recovery. I've tried to go back over those...
Yes, that's definitely something that has been missing in all the reports of the recovery operation. A picture of the immediate environment, and going back to the top of the cliff, with a marker on the spot where Gary was found. To give some perspective. With all the news helicopters hovering...
IMO Gary could not have been forging through that bush close to the cliff line with any great speed, given how dense the scrub is and how narrow the paths. So, if he fell/slipped, it could not have been at any great velocity. Given that what was below is a heavily wooded slope and not a sheer...

The data at the above link I gather tells you what phase the moon was in on certain dates and times.
Do agree with this, though, too. Gary would surely not have been second youngest by far. So many young looking colleagues at his funeral, he would not have stood out wildly from most of them. And the IT arena is well known for employing, even preferring, young people!
This is JMO, but I do get the impression that Gary enjoyed his work and was a valued employee. The turn out at his funeral attests to that. I'm sure Gary was very enthusiastic in his job but I wouldnt be surprised if being so young (and brilliant at the same time) wrought a different kind of...
Just turning my mind back to a random comment made in the previous thread, about all the bushes on the escarpment where Gary went over. On the one hand, yes, they'd obscure your view of where the ground gives way but, on the other hand, someone mentioned you'd think they could also have caught...
Re the drug drop -
Never been party to a drug deal myself so not au fait with what 'normal protocols' might be in such a transaction, but just wondering - would GT realistically be left to just 'collect' the drugs from somewhere? When and how would the supplier get paid, if there is no person...
I remember reading in media reports that police did spend much of their focus on searching in bush along Sublime Point Rd and, yes, I guess that would include the Point too. Who knows, whether anything further in that 17 min phone conversation pointed to that, or whether it was the often cited...
Haven't yet worked out how to get the name of the person I am quoting to come across yet...
FigTree and others, there has been lots of publicity given to the Sweet Dreams cliff face in the media, but my understanding from reports has always been that Gary was found 'near' a location known as...
Need to clarify, HAL9000 and others. I know nothing of 'how' he fell, just of his landing position, based on msm reports. When I said 'he fell backwards', I meant 'he landed backwards' as opposed to face first on the ground. Sorry for lack of clarity.
Gary fell backwards i.e. he was found slumped over backwards across a fallen tree branch. I imagine his head was more towards the cliff and his feet more towards the valley, as the paramedic said in msm that they could clearly make out his legs

The funeral at Northern Suburbs Crematorium, in North Ryde, was delayed when Mr Tweddle's aunt collapsed and had to...
Many thanks for the heads up re 20 posts, Marlywings. Made it!
Now I can finally see the gorgeous flowers that FigTree attached to the tree at the site. Absolutely beautiful, FigTree! From all the photos I've seen of Gary, he seems to wear a lot of purple, so the purple ribbons were a very good...
