the letters will doom any "mental defect" defense....I'm think plea deal to spare everyone a trial and life in prison, no parole.
I knew she owned the house, but my question is why the surprise that she was killed too? If she lived there, she was certain to be murdered if he murdered everyone else...

no way does this guy get off on insanity--the letters, his actions after-throwing the cell phone in the trash, not killing himself....he's a lifer...
so I'm a bit confused--the mother in law happened upon the scene? Was she not supposed to be home or something? I wonder if he planned this or was it something like " I want a divorce" and he grabs a statue or something and kills the wife and then decides the rest had to go....so sad...

That's the 1st day Ethan was with them, so that is probably why they state that particular date--short of SS and NS confessing, the abuse could have been on day 1 or 5...hard to say
Today's hearing is practically a formality--with the info gathered to date, SS and NS have breathed their last breath of freedom--neither will ever see the outside of a prison for the rest of their miserable lives. No judge will grant bail and no jury will acquit them. I would think they wont...
Look like the sexual abuse statement is part of a quoted statute regarding that and child abuse...I don't necessisarly read it that they sexuall y abused the boy....

Truly unbelieveable. Not so much that NS hit the child, but that SS didnt go to the police or anyone...she had chances to do this. She was allegedly at wal-mart when he was burned in the bathroom-she could have driven to the PD and had the cops show up and arrest NS and get the child to the...
