An update for our military families, if this hasn't already been posted:

I don't know that you are wrong about that. That's sort of what it looks like to me as well. Doesn't look like a .22 cause it doesn't have a barrel lol. I am confused about where the idea came from that a .22 of Sherilynns was unaccounted for. I know this was stated in the media, just unsure of...
I am also wondering about another thing (trying to catch up here.)
In the glovebox picture, there is clearly a leather holster. It looks to me as if it contains something. Wasn't it stated that Sherilynn's .22 was missing? Was that a .22 missing from the home? Was the .22 registered to...
Wow social media is interesting for sure.
While looking for that snip with the dog, came across this and thought I'd bring it up again.

Been in contact with SAR on the ground. As far as I know, they have been taking them since deployment. And Pro KI for the dogs. No link for that though, sorry.
I think there was both a still picture and a very short video clip of the man on horse with the dog following.
I will see about copying all the pictures over. It is a lot of work, but well worth it to have everything in one place. A place where there is no discussion or rumors, just pictures...
Thanks for reposting that link watcher9.
I have a question also. Does anyone have the video of the search where there is a dog trotting behind a man on a horse handy?
What dog is that? Is it a stray? A search dog? A dog belonging to someone on the search?
This IMO is exactly the case. It happens all the time in both crisis and when troops are deployed for a variety of other reasons. Most other militaries do this as well (not just US.)
It's just a resource drain for the actual support needed, which is more than general web/MSM reporting. So...
I think the thinking behind this is that if you have military contacts local to the disaster, msn/yahoo whatever- not needed. Not that they are trying to keep info quiet, but that the web traffic is a resource drain at this time.
Another thing to think about:
<DEPLOYMENT UPDATE: VA-TF1, CA-TF2 and UK search teams are all using a gymnasium in Ofunato City as their Base of Operations. All three task forces began working at daybreak yesterday and they are not dividing into red and blue team shifts. Everybody is working...
With all due respect to members posting about who is/should step up to the plate regarding this disaster, I'd like to remind that there are many international humanitarian groups on the ground right now assisting, as well as military. That's who usually "steps up to the plate" IMO. They are in...
Following the advice of our moderators- we should probably go back to basics here:

Keep up the good work VATF1 and CATF2... lots of thoughts and prayers with you.
