If they have evidence of her in the burned truck, LE in Lafayette definitely knew about the burned truck prior to June 14th. Otherwise, that would have been in the Houston area MSM, and it wasn't. It wouldn't have been kept quiet.
I'm not sure her body was in that vehicle when it was burned...
Ok, I've sleuthed all day for a report, posted prior to last night/today's announcement, on one of the Houston, Montgomery, or San Jacinto area MSM sites about a burned out truck being found. I have come up with nothing, and I consider myself to be a pretty savvy Googler.
Is it possible that...
I'm sorry if this has been discussed and I missed it. If so, please ignore.
Is it common for RSOs to be able to obtain a job like BSL's? I know offshore work hiring isn't exactly picky, to put it lightly, and that there are likely many offshoresmen with criminal backgrounds. But a Tier 3...
Dropping a body in Lake Conroe or Lake Livingston (the 2 lakes in that area) would be quite a risky move. Those lakes aren't like the Atchafalaya Swamp/Whiskey Bay area where the bike was dropped. They're not nearly the swampy, deserted place we only had her linked to previously. They are...
That, and the new favorite activity: removing all four wheels and leaving someone's vehicle stacked on bricks.
The simple state of affairs here in the Houston area is that vehicle burglary, theft, and vandalism is so common that you rarely meet anyone who hasn't been a victim of it, myself...
I want to make sure everyone realizes that Montgomery County, Texas (where the truck was reported stolen) and San Jacinto, Texas (where the truck was found burned) are adjacent to each other. See here: http://www.hearthstonelegacy.com/texas-county-map.htm
The Google map with the distance...
Sorry for the delayed response to some of these things, I've been catching up on the pages.
With respect to the fact that he can afford 2 $50,000 vehicles but not a lawyer, I think it's already been pointed out that "in a case like this" (using his words), a defense lawyer can run up quite a...
You're right. It does. Through some pretty rural areas. Great catch! Not so great about finding Mickey along that 4.5 hour route though.
Let's hope LE has more info on where she could be than they divulged, just like they've had this in the works unbeknownst to us.
I'm not going to rule out that his work may have taken him to the Gulf lined towns of Texas, on the coast. So maybe that put him in the general area. But being an offshoresman, it's really unlikely that his work would take him to North East Houston, to the Sam Houston National Forest area...
Isabelle, in response to your question on the Live thread: there are 2 different White Trucks in Texas having been discussed. The previous one, we discussed around June 9. It was found in La Porte, TX. The is South East Houston, along the Gulf/Bay. It was found to be unrelated. This burned...
No, there's no public transportation.
He could take a bus, or a train. But the buses and trains aren't going to get him out of San Jacinto County, where the burned out truck was found, to Houston, where he could get back to Lafayette.
Someone he knew had to help him. Or he just got...
Not necessarily. I got bit by a dog the week before Mickey disappeared. Nothing major, just a small bite. But it broke the skin, and 7 weeks later it's still healing. It's almost totally healed, but it's scarred, and you can tell it's a dog bite.
Because there could be evidence on his clothes and belongings (her DNA, mud on his shoes they can pinpoint to Whiskey Bay, etc.) as well as some of her belongings could be there. A lot of predators keep souvenirs of their victims...
I'm not sure if you got the impression that I think it's appropriate that "crimes" like urinating in an alley at Mardi Gras should be considered sex crimes, but I want to make sure you, and everyone else, knows that I do not think this is appropriate.
I wholeheartedly agree with you that the...
The original white truck we discussed a few weeks ago that was "abandoned" at a motel was in La Porte, TX. (See A.C.I.'s post: http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showpost.php?p=8031532&postcount=608)
La Porte, TX is still in the Houston area, technically, but on the opposite site of Houston...
I do remember someone mentioning an abandoned white truck in Texas, but I believe it was more along I-10, near Beaumont? I'll try to find the post.
San Jacinto county, honestly, would be an easy place to hide something. A large majority of it (80%?) is right in the middle of the Sam Houston...
Also, I agree with the lock and throw away the key in theory, but in practice in addition to defining who that applies to, like someone else said, someone's got to pay for that. I wish it wasn't so damn expensive to keep someone prisoner, but the reality of it is that it is.
Perhaps we just...
