Thanks for that Figtree! After reading your post I found the original one at the library so I going to give it a read.

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Does anyone know much about attending these types of trials? There will be an open public gallery that anyone can attend? I'd love to be in the court to watch this first hand. Anyone know where this trial will be held? Also, is there any info yet on who the crown prosecutor will be?

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

To me, McNamara seems more heavily implicated. Jamie got into his car, drugs found in his car, his surfboard cover, his boat used to dump body....

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Welcome Ivana NGO!! I wonder about the sincerity of McNamara's 'corruption fighter' role too. From what Iv'e read... In the late 80's / 90's, GM went undercover to investigate corrupt police dealing with pedophiles, and later gave evidence at the Police Royal Commission. He claimed to have...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Yep, they swooped at 4am - he didn't hear it. He must have been beside himself when he found his car (and meth) gone. Roger was supposedly booked on a flight from Brisbane to Syd, but didn't show for it. Instead deciding to drive. That is a long drive and must have been a very nervous one...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

"It takes a certain type of person to cross the line. They've got to have greed. I honestly don't think you could say corruption exists because cops are poorly paid. It's because of greed, simple as that." RR Thanks for that article Ausgirl, very interesting.

You're in your element here SJ, Welcome! Do you have a theory on if this was a planned hit or not?

I was going to say McNamara's phone no in Jamies phone, but there weren't too many mobile's back then either. So yeah, maybe they were just in a time warp.

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

This is all becoming very tangled isn't it. So does anyone think that maybe he was an informant since he was due give evidence at the ACC? Looking over Sleeps timeline (thank you Sleep), I can't believe that McNamara held on to the drugs, leaving them in his own car for nearly 4 days?? He must...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

https://au.tv.yahoo.com/sunrise/video/watch/16286421/funding-for-anti-gang-taskforce/ This video is Glen McNamara talking to Kochie on Sunrise about the government establishing an anti-gang task force. GM says 'the only way they can do it is by taking the brutal drug dealers out of the...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

I tend to agree with you Suthrnqt, that they got too confident. But these two men are not only ex-cops, but are now supposedly working as debt collectors / or PI's (in McNamara's case). Wouldn't they be taking advantage of the very technology and surveillance they seemed oblivious to?

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Absolutely unbelievable. Like a detective said in one article 'The stars of amateur hour'. With respect to fact that this crime resulted in a young man losing his life, the whole thing has been a comedy of errors. Particularly when you consider that McNamarra has promoted himself as a good cop...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Yeah very true. It does seem that the Police were on top of this case right from the start. If anyone works as a Police informant, I wonder how closely they are monitored for their own protection?

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Jamie bragging to his friends for weeks about meeting 'Glen', leads me to think he was not set up by police as an informant. Just sounds to me like a reckless thing to do if you're working for the police??

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2639716/Disgraced-former-detective-wanted-murder-Sydney-university-student-Jamie-Gao.html Mr Kenny (RR lawyer): "Rogerson was not very well off financially, and he's been doing it pretty difficult for some time". Sydney identity Jim Byrnes told 2UE...

Also from that article, Police say, 'Gao broke the underworlds universal rule of drug dealing: the drugs never go to the money. The money always comes to the drugs. It's clear Gao trusted who he was dealing with.'

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/jamie-gao-the-shocking-discovery-that-left-cops-shaken/story-e6freon6-1226938455360 Some interesting info in this article. The meth, although the street value was 3.1 million, was to be exchanged at the meeting for 'hundreds of thousands of dollars'. Also...

GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Thanks for everyone's comments, just finished reading them all. This is an incredible case. I thought it was strange that, when the news bulletin came on about Jamie's disappearance, the police said 'he has not been seen since Tuesday, feared murdered'. I've never heard that from a missing...
