I think we're at a bit of a standstill now until we have further news. I was going to do a bit of a poll to see where everyone's thoughts are but as I was writing it I just came up with 6 different scenarios and I'm sure there's more I've not covered. That's the problem with this case, it's...
This surprised me too , and makes me even more certain the garage footage was him. I don't think we had an outcome of that did we?
Also, he doesn't look anywhere near drunk to me.
Imo and purely speculation but I'm starting to veer away from the water outcome now.
Locals feel free to correct me on any of the below, but my thought are:
For all intents and purposes the flooded areas were not dangerously deep and a way out of town.
The river while fast flowing, only...
Especially if he knew he had to be back by a deadline - 2am, and didn't think he was going to make it because of train cancellations, and just wanted to avoid a confrontation.
I do it quite often. I'm a light drinker so would leave a group without hesitation if I'd had enough and was ready to go home but didn't want to succumb to the peer pressure of 'just one more, live a little' etc etc
Gosh those are hard ones to make out. I'm more positive that the garage sightings are him than these to be honest, but the police must be convinced if they've positively identified him.
His home is about 50-60 miles away so doubt he'd have tried to walk it. If I were him I would have tried to get a train then if I found out they were being cancelled because of the weather I'd head to the local fire station to sit in the warm and dry to try and work out what to do next.
Another thing I picked up from Lewes Present that may have been missed in all the other posts is that his friends all moved onto the E&C at 8pm. Sadly it seems he only just missed them after his walk up that way.
I actually think the garage footage could be him. The gait and arm swing is very similar and the person goes back the other way a few minutes later like they're lost. Maybe he couldn't get home and was trying to find the fire station at this point?
This. I've done this loads of times, either because I'd drunkenly told them something in conversation that I regretted afterwards like that I was home alone, or because they were a bit weird, or something just felt off. Once I even had to hide in a front garden a couple of doors down from mine...
I think he opens the car door and moves something out of the way (I always dump my stuff on an empty seat instead of the boot to be honest, or maybe a kids booster seat or something like that) then a person gets in of their own volition. I also think it's the rear nearside door not the front n/s.
For me, it's all still about how he would have got her in the car if it were him. If it were me and I got home and I realised I had no key and no phone and was a bit drunk my instinct would be to go somewhere busier where there's cctv and may possibly spot someone else I knew going back to the...
I'm wondering whether the threats to her may have specifically been about MS or not. Maybe she told her colleagues about an affair, said he's telling his wife, and if she doesn't turn up for work one day the wife/her ex has found out. It would explain her possibly answering the door to someone...
poor lass.
Yes, my gut reaction now is that she had a one nighter with PE, got a bit cut up that he didn't contact her back, she tried to confront him and got nana instead and told her but she didnt believe her because of her previous, then she ran off and died eventually of hypothermia. PE...
I suppose there's always the chance, however slim, that she's unconscious somewhere and in need of medical assistance. I would guess that until they're sure that they're looking for a body rather than a person that they'll take all the help they can get.
