weekend discussion: discuss the trial here #155

The forensics can easily show whether or not it was the gun used to shoot Travis, so planting any other gun would make no difference at all and wouldn't be admissable in court that a gun was even found.

Well if you truly believe Jodi is innocent, you would believe her story and you would assume that the gun would NOT belong to her grandparents thereby taking premeditation potentially off the table. If that's what you were asking.

If there is any truth to this at all, *skeptical*, they could do a ballistics test to see if it was the gun used by Jodi and if it was her grandparents gun, that's game, set, match. Grandparents are in CA right? So the gun would be registered? Again, I am not really putting much weight in...

I think she came out of her fognesia after everything had been disposed of.

I looked at that link you provided and it just looked like some random poster on another forum said they "heard" about this from their brother in law. It is most likely coming from the same place - strange internet rumors. I just don't think this story sounds reasonable at all. MOO.

It was probably more evidence of her hacking into his FB, e-mails, and voice mails too. Perhaps.

I'm a little bit skeptical about this. I mean it's been 5 years and I would imagine they would have tried to find the gun prior to this point in time. Could be some prankster/weirdo planting a gun if the story is in fact even true.

That's what I thought it was about too. I thought he was mad because she made up a story about some mysterious person that came into her workplace and told her about Travis's "cheating" and he just had enough with the craziness.

I've thought about that too. Of course he did take a shower, and he's a guy, so he may have washed off all the evidence. But there was clearly no DNA evidence of any sex.

I don't think I've ever directly seen his pastor say that. I do have a question about that. Did he say it in a joking way? Or was he serious? Sometimes people say things like, "OMG my ex is such a psycho I think they may kill me." but they are joking or just making a hyperbolic statement. I...

I remember Det. Flores also said that he agreed that it must have been at least 2 people and that gave her ammunition for the ninja story she later told. I thought that was pretty brilliant work by Flores when I saw that.

I thought they were off on Monday because one of the jurors was unavailable though.

I don't think they saw that either. That was something that was released very recently to the media. I don't think that ever was presented in the trial. I have no idea why. IMO they should have seen the entire interrogation tape, but that was probably hours and hours of tape and there may be a...

No one in Jodi's former life had ever met Travis AFAIK. Her parents said they had never met him and really didn't know a lot about him. I'm not sure what you were expecting Travis or his friends to do in this situation. Jodi is a grown adult and is solely responsible for her actions. It isn't...

I'm not sure anyone really knew the extent of Jodi's capabilities. I mean... a lot of people have a friend with a crazy ex-boyfriend/girlfriend. I don't think it's a common thought that the crazy ex will actually become violent. I think we usually see this as a bad influence or factor in our...
