Sadly, I diasagree. Knowing he test drove/tried to test drive a 3rd truck, a specific one, I think it was about the engine, not the truck, as his own 3500, didn't have the upgraded engine.
I think you're second paragraph, is SPOT ON! I doubt their squealing. I think suspect #3 is (if he's still alive), or neighbours are now calling in suspicions.
The Police could have found it on their own, as you can see the patches weren't covered with grass (there's another one in the photo, where it's just dirt). Maybe they used the radar and it picked something up? With no grass covering, it could have been easy to guess what could be under there...
Hamilton Police said that THEY didn't find anymore remains. I think this was a "read between the lines" statement. They don't have jurisdictions over WM or LB's remains/investigations, so maybe they found "something" and TP was told to get warrants etc. All IMO only.
