Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

CN was obsessed with LB. Even LB’s death didn’t absolve DM of past infidelities. Nor would it for most monogamous couples. That’s why DM was still on the defensive, with his pleas of “pathological liar=pathological liar”. And by referring to LB in the past tense in his text to CN, “you of all...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

That theory makes the most sense (If MWJ is near any of those pings). Driving around with a dead LB in the car to show off to CN is a little over the top even for crazy DM and CN. CN's text "have fun doing big things" at 10:20 PM that evening wouldn't make sense if she already saw LB dead at 8 PM.

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.11.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 3

BBM SL made every effort to interest the TPS in LB's disappearance without success back in July, 2012. SL claims to have handed them LB's phone records and pointed out that LB's last 8 calls were with DM. Yet DM was never approached by TPS until after his arrest for TB's murder. Looks like...

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #7

Reason for MS’ big smile IMO is the ‘success’ of the ‘next level mission’. They had been planning this for months. The failure of BBQ #1 was a setback. BBQ #2 finally arrives. Top priority. They are working on the trailer to make it mobile. Good thing too cuz that very night, after “talking to...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.08.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 2

MS: Main contact with MWJ from the get go. Helped with procurement of the gun. Was in on the planning / preparation of both incinerators. Test it with 'something with bones in it' - he knows what it's for. "Laura thing" text -> no explanation needed. Was at Maple Gate at alleged time of murder...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.08.17 - Charge to the Jury - Day 2

Not quite. The ruling applies to the unlawful seizure of a phone. Bottom line - police need a warrant to seize a phone (or search someone's home). http://www.thecourt.ca/r-v-marakah-sending-text-messages-reasonable-expectation-privacy/

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.06.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 2

He’s got a civil action to defend as well (along with MS, CN and MB). And perhaps another civil suit from LB’s family. Lots of opportunity to hone his lawyering skills. Shame he’s got such a reprehensible client. Unwinnable cases - life in prison and squander the entire family fortune.

Powerful close by Crown! . The trolls have been silenced. A better day for the Babcocks than yesterday for sure. Interested to hear what Judge and jury have to say...

Laura Babcock Murder Trial 12.05.17 - Closing Arguments - Day 1

While I respect the rules of this forum, I find a comment celebrating ‘the privilege to see him in person’ regarding a convicted murderer and likely serial killer to be perverse and offensive. Moderators??

7 hours of talking for Millard with minimal interruption and no risk of cross. Better than taking the stand. Criminals take note.

Yes, apparently DM didn't love CN enough to kill for her. His father on the other hand. now there's the great love of his life. Someone, he was willing to kill for... https://www.thespec.com/news-story/4460077-accused-bosma-killer-says-he-loved-his-dad/

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #6

Anyone who is truly innocent would insist on telling their side of the story without fear of cross examination. If I were a juror, I would see an unwillingness to testify as an admission of guilt. M1 for both.

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #6

Exactly why DM was attracted to and so willing to pay $20,000+ for ‘The Eliminator’. Aptly named...it eliminates all physical evidence. Very ominous imagery, seeing ‘THE ELIMINATOR’ in those pics in large red block letters. The urgent need to purchase The Eliminator in late June, before what...

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #6

Well, that makes a total of one individual on the planet that takes DM’s letter to CN as truth. Even DM himself stated it as if it were made up: “Whatever you may believe, it needs to be put aside. This is what happened....”

Babcock Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #6

It is interesting to consider that DM, in his closing argument, will achieve essentially everything that he would have accomplished had he chosen to testify, without the hazard of then being taken apart in cross by both TD and the Crown. And reassuring that by following DM, TD and the Crown...
