Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder #2

I agree! Are there rules about "good character" evidence? Such as finishing high school? Did some of the evidence of MS's crimes have to be admitted since MS used it as an excuse for not going to police?

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder #2

I think also that someone might say they no longer have feelings...but I believe that is easier said than done.... I see no reason why she would lie or embellish her testimony to incriminate MS on the stand. The opposite is what people would expect given her history with him.

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder #2

We weren't told for 4.5 months that MS was a low life scum of the earth. Many people here complained there wasn't enough evidence against him during the early part of the trial. After the initial cell phone and video evidence we then heard lots of evidence about DM's DNA, DM's finances, DM's...

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

When i first read a reporter's tweet that he (Dungey) has said they had strong grounds for appeal or they were appealing, my first ignorant rude and disrespectful thought was "Shut it Dungey!"

Verdict: GUILTY for both Millard and Smich of 1st degree murder

Thanks but I still can't follow the logic all the way through.... Here is where I am getting stuck: 1.There is evidence that Tim was shot as per GSR,, blood etc. etc. There is evidence that the truck was cleaned. Therefore one shell casing doesn't really prove much since it could have just...

and by lack of evidence, he means he caused there to be lack of evidence (I'm not saying without strong legal principle/purpose, it's just i don't understand that purpose ...)

    Verdict Watch Discussion Thread

I haven't read Goodman's instructions to the jury in careful detail, nor all of the posts here but a few things are sticking out for me: 1) I am bothered by Goodman's summary of key evidence. For example(and others here have commented on this), Goodman saying there was no financial motive. DM...

Hiding the shiv was just a mission. I think he will have lots of missions in prison. In fact, prison might be a good sandbox for his desire for missions.

Bosma Murder Trial - Weekend Discussion #17 [06.03.16 to 06.09.16]

I think they wanted all evidence away from themselves as fast as they could (Thursday night before SS's father in law had a chance to go to the police). Possibly have Isho pick up the weapon from MH directly. (In case they were being followed). Why MS then wanted it back after DM was...

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.2.16 - Day 58 - Closing Arguments Day 3

She knew they were on a mission and a bad one. She still wanted to hear from him. Didn't she text that thought MS was dead? Why would he be dead from a simple scoping? or even a theft?

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.1.16 - Day 57 - Closing Arguments Day 2

"doesn't like to play by the rules"...is that like getting off on a technicality or trying to sneak something by a judge that technically shouldn't be allowed....? Perhaps we will get a sense when we see what evidence was not allowed to be presented....

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.1.16 - Day 57 - Closing Arguments Day 2

How did it establish only one person could have committed murder in the first degree? There are lots of ways a second person helps in planning or confinement (to prevent escape) without them both having pulled the trigger.

    Bosma Murder Trial 06.1.16 - Day 57 - Closing Arguments Day 2

sort of off topic and sort of not: I have been reading Kolyma Tales which is short stories about the Russian Gulag prison camps where Russian organized crime really took off. It made me curious and I did some googling and found information on the extensive use of tattoos used by the Russian...
