It is. Not only did LE search around the dam early on, but they also had Hydro Quebec close the flood gates as much as possible to lower the current on the other side.

The original time frame was directly provided by the SPVM, if I recall correctly. Sounds like the witness thaught she saw Ariel around 2pm, and some footage recovered afterwards shows him entering the park at 11:25

Denial is a very common and powerful defense mechanism against grief.

Ian Lafrenière, spokesperson for the SPVM: http://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/1090811/disparition-ariel-jeffrey-kouakou-police-privilegie-noyade The investigation is still ongoing. LE can't say they are certain Ariel fell into the river, which is why the major crimes unit is still actively...

It's a good thing he addresses the father's questions and puts an end to the rumours and speculation. This means though that all hope is lost. They're on a search and recover operation. What a terrible tragedy.

Hi ! Yes, I heard the same thing. I understood it to be a deduction from the garage and house surveillance camera footage only showing Ariel walking towards the apartments + the friend's mom saying a neighbour saw him knocking at the door. I don't think the CCTV images from the restaurant cam...

Looks like Viel St. comes to a dead end. You would need to turn North towards Gouin, the closest street to destination being Letellier.

The deeply shocked and distraught man is doing all he can to find his missing son. He must be losing his mind. At this point, there's not much else to go on - IMHO

Oh, the anguish I caused my parents by skipping school and wandering the streets at 8. I had loads of fun though :shame: Fortunately I turned out ok and I'm making sure my kids don't find out about this.

The divers just ended their two day search. They won't go back in unless new leads are uncovered 600 tips so far, but no sign of the little one :( http://www.ledevoir.com/societe/523162/disparition-d-ariel-jeffrey-kouakou-les-plongeurs-de-retour-a-l-eau-mardi

I respectfully disagree. The life of a child is at stake. Who would refrain from coming forward for fear of being criticized? Especially after the repeated and heartbreaking pleas from the parents to the surrounding community? FWIS, I went over there on wednesday, and everyone I came across...

rsbbm Maybe he tried the back door, and then went through the back alley towards Letellier St, thus no footage? (What if he did try to go home?)

I agree. The more I think about it, the more difficult it is for me to imagine a 10 year old complaining to a complete stranger about having a bad day.

Ouch ! On the other hand, a 10 year old boy walking alone on a silent and desert street for the first time ever, after being told by his caring and protective parents to beware of strangers, might be a little edgy.

Interesting interview regarding the work LE are probably doing behind the scenes. Basically, according to this commentator - who is an ex-police officer: The major crimes unit has been involved for some time Every single door between the two homes has been knocked at; LE do rigourous work...

Good find ! This just sent me into panic mode ! It is very close to home and just reminded me that an alert was sent out from my boys' old primary school about this ! At the time, I didn't realize they were talking about a 10 year old boy...
