CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

Yes I remember the earlier video. No worries......just wish answers were forthcoming. I did read there were some legal challenges ongoing right now regarding redactions in what has been released. I saw the Crown wanted to seal some things permanently, and to deny the release of other info...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I found this by accident and have posted the link. I don't remember this posted anywhere else, but if so, my apologies for the duplication. Even in a car, given the distances, it amazes me he did so much so quickly.

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I looked at hers and it did not.......so it does strike me as odd. It does not change what happened, nor answer the question of "why"......

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

One of my brothers pointed this out to me which might mean something.....or nothing, but I missed it completely. In the obit for Sean Mcleod (Sean Andrew Mcleod | Obituaries | The Chronicle Herald) it states he was Predeceased by his partner, Alanna Jenkins. It was my understanding they were...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

It was an interesting read. Sadly, reporters are providing more info than the police.

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I have been away for a bit here fishing.....and returned to find no more facts but lots of speculation. It does sadden me to see so little info is forthcoming. I'd love to be one of the reporters at the infrequent press conferences and ask "my" questions! I just wish there was a timetable for...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

It's all speculation but do you think he withdrew the money to deny it to anyone else, or did he withdraw it to go off somewhere else, leaving nothing behind for anyone? But, he could disappear with his cash and still burn his homes. Why the murders? Why not just disappear? I would like to...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I cannot imagine receiving a car returned to me with human remains. As though having your mother murdered was not bad enough. I don't wish to be graphic but imagine "remains" is blood spatter or tissue? That is just so wrong. Also, how can the police leaving casings in there? Should those...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

Interesting to read that. At times my thoughts are "you guys were close......" and then it drifts back to "how did that happen?". Early Sunday morning he must have known they would be searching for him and the obvious location would be back toward Halfiax. Is that why he went to Wentworth...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I just saw this posted this morning on the Global news site. I quoted an excerpt below: Longtime neighbour John Hudson says the killer made a point of burning his uncle’s former home that night, even though he had moved away years ago. Among Wortman’s first victims was 49-year-old teacher Lisa...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

It is a failing of mine to try to apply logic to things which helps me understand situations. Clearly, in situations like this, the rules are way different. Perhaps he thought leaving carnage behind would slow pursuit.....but there I go again trying to make sense of it.

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

That makes sense. A family member has homecare nursing and the nurses are always on their phones updating their schedule, advising clients they are their way to the next visit etc. I know people cannot answer this, but I will ask......"why???" Why not just keep driving to make a "getaway"...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

Yes, if they were not "pulled over" they must have just been shot while still in motion. He did mention "eyewitnesses at the scene" did not describe cars being pulled over. I had thought until now it was a secluded section of road and had no idea there were witnesses. Not sure how I missed...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

I was surprised by the comment he had not pulled over vehicles....however I am perplexed as to what happened then. The Glenholme incident is also intriguing as frustratingly few details emerged. I wish that had been expanded upon. Overall I am less certain about events than before the press...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

Just found this in the Chronicle Herald and we might have some answers (or more questions) tomorrow. Frustrating isn't it? The RCMP will hold a news conference Thursday on the latest developments in the investigation into a mass shooting in Nova Scotia. A gunman killed 22 people on April 18...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

It is an incredibly difficult situation in so many ways. Could the police have handled the situation differently/better? Probably. But then, as stated above, you think of Stevenson's family amidst criticism of police.....or Morrison who was shot while doing his duty. I do hope the families...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

There are certainly several incidents of note in this man's history. After the Forbes' moved in 2014, were there any reported similiar violent incidents? He had financial issues with people, a speeding ticket, the parking lot chain incident, and appeared to be an A-hole type neighbour, but to...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

It will always be speculation as to whether a little more police presence would have stopped all this. I understand what people mean, but also wonder if a "friendly visit" would have made him take more precautions? I googled a few things such as using hearsay to obtain a search warrant....and...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

If there were complaints against him, or anyone, should these be permanent records? Or is a 5 yr or 10 yr retention of that complaint enough? I see arguments both ways on that. As for the weapons, even if a search warrant were obtained and weapons seized, what is/were the penalties at the...

CANADA - shooter in RCMP vehicle & uniform, 22 killed (plus perp), Portapique, NS, 18 April 2020 #3

Amoca, just so you know those are not just words, they are what I truly believe. I'm glad you found some comfort in them. When I heard that ambulances and fire trucks were held back because there was a shooter, I could only imagine how they felt not rushing in to do their jobs. Maybe lives...
