Why does that matter??? Cops routinely ask neighbors and friends for leads in cases when they don't know which direction to go. If there was NOTHING to the sister's allegations, LE's investigations would have shown that and they would have a different theory or suspect, but Kouri couldn't be...
It's called Circumstantial Evidence, and it's every bit as strong, sometimes even stronger than Direct Evidence. It's logic- she was the last one with him. She poisoned his drink. Eyewitnesses can be wrong.

I view it exactly the opposite. This case is a slam dunk for the prosecution. Eric didn't poison himself, so how else did he ingest the lethal dose of Fentanyl if not in the drink she made him??? She had the means, motive, and opportunity to kill him.
