    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

In general, we'd all be having a different discussion if the jury didn't find her guilty of M1. They did. They also believed that she was emotionally and mentally abused but still found her guilty. They seemed to believe the abuse was a mitigating factor (which it technically is) to not vote for...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

I honestly don't know if a person can realistically have an anxiety disorder and not have empathy. I really don't. And anxiety doesn't magically get better with different environments if it is an internal problem. The brain is malfunctioning regardless of the situation. Granted, after I left my...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

I don't think you understand what it is like to have anxiety everyday. I have it everyday of my life. Sometimes I feel like I might die any minute. There is no way to become accustomed to anxiety. It doesn't work like that. Severe stress on a regular basis will manifest itself.

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #4

I don't care what anyone says. I believe the jury tried as hard as they could. I'm sure this was a very difficult non-decision. How dare you lash out in crazy anger against these people. I hope they are not terrorized for what they did or didn't do.

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

I would say that her hands shaking while delivering a presentation to plead for her life would be a natural anxiety reaction. That's totally normal to have. Those moments of hyper-awareness are normal stress reactions. Completely not indicative of an anxiety disorder. Please hear me when I...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

Ok. I'll even concede that she tested highly for anxiety on the tests given. However, as everyone has pointed out, the tests aren't a basis for diagnostic personality disorders, or other disorders, such as mood, etc... So, maybe she had anxiety because she actually murdered someone and other...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

ITA. What you see with her is not what you get and there is clearly a disconnect; for not just TA but for all of us. The only way I could reconcile her tests scores without completely throwing them out the window is that she does adapt to her environment quite well. The environment of jail...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

Also, I'd just like to say that I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder, GAD, when I was 5. I'm now 33, and obviously I've had anxiety since I can remember. My little amygdala has always been out of control. I have been paralyzed by anxiety and it has saved my life. It's a blessing and...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

From what I could understand when I read the link is that it was a site that sells information about how to take a personality test. IMO, this is not a valid educational site to base any relevant conclusions as to whether the basis of fact regarding the Myers-Briggs test to be "valid" or not...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

I took my Myers-Briggs personality type for this example: ENTJ - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The work of Carl Jung was brought to the psychological testing sphere by Myers and Briggs. They developed this personality test based on Jung's theories of personality types. It's more than just...

Penalty Phase - Verdict Watch #2

I'm afraid for the members of this jury should they come back with a life sentence. This is their decision to decide and their decision will affect so many lives and bear on their souls forever. IMO their recommendation needs to be accepted by the public if they are able to come to a...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

That is not a factual statement. Sorry. There is a plethora of scientific evidence that refutes that. Of course, some are born with problems, but that statement is too general for such a complex issue.

GUILTY PA - Dr. Kermit Gosnell for killing patient, 7 infants, Philadelphia, 2011

Well. I think any rational person with some knowledge of geography is aware of your argument. But, Kevorkian, this man is not. Let's not kid our selves into believing that what he did was some kind of public service. Gosnell perpetuated the addictions by providing anything anyone needed with a...

    Poll for the Armchair Psychologists

As my Dad once said: Crazy people don't know they're crazy. JA doesn't "get" it. She just doesn't. To her, she's normal. However, I'm not a fan of this bloodthirsty mentality. To me, it is disturbing.

aggravation phase #8 - VERDICT - Extreme Cruelty PROVEN

I am a Victim's Advocate. I work for a local Police Department. I am an actual victim of Domestic Violence, twice actually, by two different people. I am quite clear on the definition of a Victim. I just also believe that this situation deserves Reverence, and there is nothing wrong with...

aggravation phase #8 - VERDICT - Extreme Cruelty PROVEN

Reverence is important. This is a somber day. I can understand validation, but not celebration. So many people's lives were ruined by what happened.

    Aggravation phase #2

I have been scouring the web and I could not find JAs time of birth anywhere. So, like Tuba, I had to "plug in" times and by a process of elimination, work until I composed a chart that "made sense" -- accurate birth times are crucial, even down to the minute, things can change. So, I don't...
