Found Deceased Spain - Esther Dingley, from UK, missing in the Pyrenees, November 2020 #3

That is interesting and highlights my brain fog re the trail maps. I couln't see the Pic de S in context of the refuge and Port de Venasque. It may have been clearer on some posters maps and I missed them. The map RedHaus marked gives me the border, with the Pic de S, and the perspective I needed.

Thank you RedHaus, that makes sense to me now I was never clear about the border. When driving I can read maps all over the country and beyond, but the trail maps lost me.

They may do some searching earlier, remember they do training during the winter and said they would do further searches as part of that.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if he's been up there again after a rest from his first search. If the hunters can do it...............

SBM I'm not good with these trail maps, but is that the trail that dips into France. I know, but I understand the SAR searched thoroughly away from the trails too. I know you have looked into all of this really well. Don't let me take you backwards, but some might feel a fresh look is worth it.

DCs facebook post re the SAR searches. It sounds very clear in professional opinions, but it is from DC and not printed by the SAR themselves. I'm not clear whether there has been anything since that contradicted the view that ED was not on the mountain? In a post on Facebook, he praised the...

At the risk of being repetitive I've put this as a memory jog. It's from the French police and it may inspire more thoughts. For me it reconfirmed the weather was fine and the trails were easy to follow unless there was ice and snow at high altitude. "The weather is fine today and it is not...

I remain hopeful there will be more news in the coming weeks. SAR do training maneouvres in the winter months and did say they will use them to conduct further searches for ED. At the very least they may be willing to publicise the areas they covered. I would hope the French and Spanish police...

It's such an ambiguous phrase that could mean so many different things depending upon the context. 'I need to take a break' is a common expression in the UK in my experience. During lockdown I feel I'm 'taking a break' if I leave the house on my own for an hour. Likewise if I leave with my other...

So it's seems there is the possibility/evidence that ED may not have given enough attention to her bodies nutrition at a time when her sound judgement was badly needed. That sadly her decision making and/or physical prowess could have been adversely affected leading to an tragic accident in...

I think 10ofRods is describing how the brain/judgement is adversely affected, and could have left ED with poor coping mechanisms. But you know that!!!

I'm in some agreement with you. Where I differ is their reasons for giving up their working lives. I can't find the info quickly, but I'm sure they described feeling seriously stressed by their working lives and the responsibilities they had. So many time demands. A business venture failed; DC...

I feel the word 'goal' is generous as I see them drifting as a couple in a lifestyle that in some respects is without goals. Also the Truman Show comes to mind. ED seems good natured, caring and a bit childlike in the way she relates to people (food). I'm sure they would have ensured their...

SBM for focus But.......she would have phone contact shortly after passing the refuge but made no contact with anyone, or didn't make it that far. I thought cell contact was about 30 min onward from the refuge. Maybe I'm confused it wouldn't be difficult.

You are right about potassium levels. A relative , a healthy eater, collapsed outside Tesco and was taken to hospital in an ambulance. Not vulnerable in a dangerous place, like a lake, thank goodness. Tests showed low potassium. She was advised to eat a banana every morning - as simple as that...

Likely to be lots of people around too, despite the time of year. Just thinking of all the hunters, and the full car park at the ski resort. Along with roads near to the various areas.

I feel uncomfortable with 'edges', even infinity pools give me the shudders along with heights. They are mesmeric, calling to come over. Just thinking of several peoples concerns about EDs meagre food and the effects it can have on the brain, then she's standing on the Pic.

Not sure about her being physically vulnerable,as she is described as very fit and strong, but certainly mentally. Thinking of the conversation she had with Laura who she spent some time with in the mountains, "they were on a break" and not sure whether they would continue together. A real...
