Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

Rest assured this case will be heard by the con court. I was just looking at their website yesterday and they've already rejected cases that were submitted this year. The fact that they haven't rejected Oscar's case already means that they are giving it a serious reading and there are items in...

I can only imagine the impossible task that the Virgin Mary would have had trying to prove her miraculous birth in her day

BIB - And will you still say the same thing when the ConCourt finally fixes this mess once and for all and returns the verdict back to CH or will there be cries of foul and possible bribery accusations such as during the High Court verdict where the 2 accessors overpowered Masipa, wrote the...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

One thing the mods have said is that while this is a victim friendly forum, we are allowed to discuss facts about the victim whether they are positive or negative. The reality is that some posters on this forum are unable to accept the truth as to who Reeva really was....a human being with...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

Here's a prime example of how the Anti-Pistorians will take any negative media headline posted about Oscar and in turn call him a monster. There needs to be some intellectual reasoning that needs to occur rather than the simple knee jerk reaction we tend to see. This article just came out...

With all due respect then, your husband was not a celebrity that has to face the wrath of the harsh media light day in and day out. Here's 20 false celebrity headlines after just 5 seconds of searching. This is what true celebrities have to deal with as people try and make a name for...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

BIB, don't you think it goes both ways. The anti-Pistorians are ready to jump on any news that appears negative to Oscar but they are ready to dismiss anything in Oscar's favour as a plant by the family. Case in point is an article that Lerena was interviewed in by the Daily Mail...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

BIB, so now you want a picture of a shrine to prove it but it's ok when elsewhere in the thread, it's acceptable that there's an unnamed woman without pictures that claims Oscar was drinking and flirting. That really shows a bias.

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

BIB this isn't a sport with favourites and underdogs where we can place bets on winners and losers. This is a murder trial where nobody wins, neither Oscar's family or Reeva's family.

I don't recall Aimee being charged with obstruction of justice since it was a crime and the police have an obligation to uphold the law.

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

It'll always be easy to take small one off observations that get hyped in the media as a means to prove your case but on the flip side of the coin, there's also Oscar who built a shrine for Reeva in his home where he recognizes her spirit daily. Of course, this side of Oscar won't fit your...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #70 *Appeal Verdict*

If you know for a fact that Carl removed Oscar's phone and deleted it's content, then clearly by extension, the prosecution would know this as well. The fact that they knew this and didn't prosecute Carl for obstruction of justice or evidence tampering makes this irrelevant and a non-story.

BIB, While many on this board may not like the fact that someone that has a life sentence is out on bail, one has to stop judging the judicial system of another country through the eyes of the judicial system of their own home country. S. Africa like every other region of this world has their...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #69 *Appeal Verdict*

Two separate cases that the prosecution was desperate to try and relate to show as a pattern. As Masipa pointed out about the arguments through text messages, relationships go up and down and those text messages were irrelevant to CH/Murder.

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #69 *Appeal Verdict*

BIB, let's look at this from the point of law. In your quote highlighted in bold, does he say he bought a McLaren? No, it says he drives one. One could lease a car, borrow a car or be provided a car by a sponsors. Another instance where Oscar didn't lie but anti-Pistorians read to much into...

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #69 *Appeal Verdict*

BIB, the answer is so obvious, there are a lot of innocent people sitting jails around the world convicted of an inappropriate charge. Appealing it could have been a risk and he simply weighted them.

BIB This tone really reminds me of how Nel tried to bully Oscar, it's not going to work.

I think you make some great points here and you are absolutely correct in that under the same circumstances, if it was burglar in the home, this would be the end of the discussion and Oscar would be a hero.

Oscar Pistorius - Discussion Thread #69 *Appeal Verdict*

You make a great point here. There were unsubstantiated, silly accusations that Masipa didn't write her own verdict, but rather one of the accessors wrote it and Masipa was forced to read it for the first time while on the bench, fumbling her way through. If that's the case, there's nothing to...
