Absolutely. I am in no way saying LE was wrong to get warrants, or even that they were wrong to focus on him. I'm not saying they didn't have reason to believe. Sometimes people can blow it without meaning to. I do find their behavior after all this to be very, very strange though.

Sure, it was clear he was a person. But there really wasn't much to distinguish him...and people usually aren't expecting to know someone in a situation like that. Ever have that feeling you should know someone, but it isn't clicking because they aren't in the usual setting you see them in?

Yeah, but the percentage of paying attention to it? For instance, earlier I mentioned my fiance just saying to me "There is some nutjob loose in PA??". I must have shared half a dozen stories about that case in the last week. Did it click with him? no.

I really don't mind going back and forth, especially when there really isn't more to talk about. That is how most conversations go in real life anyways. We may have to say things a few times, but as long as it is respectful it shouldn't be a problem. But if someone has something else to talk...

Yes, because I know people who are that clueless.

If you are paying close attention to my posts, you will see that I am on the fence. I am not committed to a side. But I will point out when there are other possibilities where others are speaking in absolutes. The only absolute here is that he was the last one seen with her in a public place.

Good point! It also isn't terribly unheard of for a girl to give a fake name/number to a guy she really isn't interested in.

But where would he hear about a search? From the news? Not if he doesn't follow the news. From seeing it? Not if he isn't in that area at that time.

I'm really amazed that other people don't know as many people as I do that don't keep up with the news. Some people literally just have no interest in it. Even if it is on in the room they are in, they will tune it out.

On this forum? Sure, we are all obsessed with the news. But not everyone is like us. We have nothing to suggest he even knew he was part of this story.

Why did she do anything she did that night? We don't know.

Yes, but that all depends on who and what you have on your Facebook. Do you have friends who are the type who share stories like that? Do you have missing persons pages who might share stories like that? My page is very informative, because those are the people and things I'm interested in...

Possibility: If she went down some side street with no camera's and someone else snatched her...it would make an innocent JM look very suspicious.

The burden of proof is not on you. It is on the prosecutor.

My grandfather used to be one of the most respected polygraphs in the city we lived in. He told me never to take one lol.

We have no idea he even knew about a missing persons case that he was involved in.

As far as I know, that would be up to the discretion of a judge. LE would request a warrant and list their reasons, and a Judge would have to agree.

Life isn't black and white. I know plenty of people who do not keep up with the news. It isn't even uncommon.

It is very confusing. Honestly, LE's statements and actions are my biggest frustration here. There is one article however that quotes that they talked to him at the apartment, but wanted to talk to him again. Dunno more than that.
