Casey appeals her 4 Lying to LE convictions

That's what I wast thinking. If she doesn't have any potential pending criminal charges, maybe she can't evoke the 5th? I should know this, but I'm not sure.

Back to the Beginning: Where Might Kyron Be?

Lots of Alaska cruises leave out of Seattle and might stop in B.C. There's also a ferry from Bellingham to Alaska that makes a couple stops in B.C.

Back to the Beginning: Where Might Kyron Be?

That's not how it works. My kids have flown alone. You pay an extra charge for an unaccompanied minor and it does mean that the child is always in the presence of an airline employee, but there isn't an extra person assigned to them on the plane. The flight attendants look after them when...

    Surveillance videos collected

Albertson is strictly a grocery. They wouldn't likely have shovels, ropes, knives, or other things that would seem particularly suspicious. Fred Meyer's does though. My thought on the multiple stores was that perhaps she's sending the police on a goose chase. She could have said, "I got...

Will there be an arrest very soon?

I'm sure they're keeping a pretty close eye on her. If she heads to the airport, I bet they will arrest her.

    TH's Reaction To Losing Daughter

I think the fact she hired a criminal defense attorney not a family law attorney clearly shows how she sees her risks and priorities. I believe she sees her biggest threat right now as being sent to jail, so she's not worrying about divorce\custody issues at present.

    CSI Shirt

Right. The CSI exhibit was at the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry last summer. I took my kids (though it was kind of gory and I has some hesitation about taking my son who is 2 years older than Kyron). There were plenty of young kids there and they sold souvenirs like that in the museum...

2010.06.30 - Ex husband on WW

It doesn't indicate when the reporter talked with Carol Moulton though. It had to be at least a few hours before the deadline since the reporter needed to do the interview and then get the story written. It could have been Friday night.

Terri Horman retains criminal defense attorney!

I think most people feel this way. In a criminal case, however, the judge will instruct the jury that the defendant has a right not to testify and will emphasize that the jury is not to infer anything from the defendant's decision not to take the stand. I don't know if most jurors are willing...

    2010.07.01 Press Conference

And withhold what they're told is "off the record." I'm guessing James Pitkin was not invited.

Terri Horman retains criminal defense attorney!

To defend someone, the lawyer doesn't necessarily have to say or establish that the client is innocent, just that the state hasn't made its case beyond a reasonable doubt. A lawyer can't, however, encourage someone to commit perjury or put on a witness the lawyer knows will commit perjury. So...

Terri Horman retains criminal defense attorney!

I think LE has been very careful in this case. I don't get the sense that they've made mistakes that will give the defense any hooks.

2010.06.29 -- LE says TH not POI nor suspect

Wow. That reads like it was written by a 5th grader.

2010.06.29 -- LE says TH not POI nor suspect

It's interesting to me that there's no reporter's name on the AP article.

2010.06.29 -- LE says TH not POI nor suspect

This is very different from saying that TH is not a POI or suspect. At the same time, I can see the other article, which paraphrased that as being based on this statement. I've noticed that the media is not very careful about language and parsing what LE actually said. I remember at one of...

2010.06.29 -- LE says TH not POI nor suspect

I remember a case that occurred where I was living several years ago. I can't recall the names. The wife had disappeared and the husband was front and center in the search calling for her return etc. Only it was clear to me that his story didn't add up and things seemed fishy. LE repeatedly...

2010.06.29 -- LE says TH not POI nor suspect

snipped I'm not sure about this. I think there's a difference between just barely enough to get a warrant and an airtight case that's a sure winner in court. I suspect they're being really careful to build an bullet proof case and insure that all the evidence is admissible. Once they make...

2010.06.28 - Kyron's Dad files for divorce and restraining order

That's my reaction too. I found it odd, with everything going on, that he would make it a priority to go find a divorce attorney and file papers, unless there was some urgency. For me, it would be low priority until Kyron was found. The only reason I could think of to do it on this timeline...

2010.06.28 - A visit with Terri and Kaine is possibly staying at another location

It's weird to me, even if Kaine suspects or has evidence of the worst, I don't know why seeing a divorce attorney and filing papers would be a priority at this time. I feel like I would just be focused on the investigation and finding Kyron and then take care of that later. Maybe it has to do...

    Kyron's parents' statements, interviews

I think the reference to K. is striking. They've never referred to her before. Now Kaine, Desiree and Tony (but not Terri?) are acting in the best interest of the baby? I don't think they could do much more to imply that Terri is the suspect without coming out and saying it
