PA PA - Ray Gricar, 59, former district attorney, Bellefonte, 15 Apr 2005 - #17

In theory. We don't have any other scandal at PSU, much less one involving RFG.

The only place where I could tie Sandusky to a voluntary disappearance is a reason I gave prior anything coming out about Sandusky. RFG may have not wanted to be "the ex-DA." He may not have wanted to be badgered about what he did in previous cases, for basically the last 25 years in PA...

PA PA - Ray Gricar, 59, former district attorney, Bellefonte, 15 Apr 2005 - #17

This is unfortunately the case with most foul play scenarios. They involve RFG meeting a lover, or getting a payoff. Even "revenge killer" has logic problems: 1. How did a revenge killer know that RFG would be in Lewisburg? 2. Why would a revenge killer target RFG in a relatively populated...

For bodies in the lower Susquehanna River, here is yet another example of a body being recovered from the river. Fingerprints confirm body pulled from Susquehanna River was man shot by Harrisburg police

I do not know. I know that she was not polygraphed and I don't think she was ever formally questioned.

I have often talked abut the "inner circle," people close to RFG who could be the "helper" that helped walk away, if that is what he did. At the top of my list is his first ex-wife BG. If I were LE: 1. Where BG was on 4/15-16/05. 2. If she purchased or rented a car in March or April of...

PA PA - Ray Gricar, 59, former district attorney, Bellefonte, 15 Apr 2005 - #17

So long as she didn't know when she testified, I don't see any legal trouble. If she had communicated with him prior to her testimony and after 4/16/05, we would be talking about perjury and fraud. I hope that RFG would not have put his daughter in that position, if he did walk away. Could...

If you read the article on that, it was not to intimidate the victim. It was an attempt to comfort her. Paterno expressed the opinion that Hodne was guilty. The trial for one victim was in Centre County. He did not want his players testifying for Hodne, i.e. as character witnesses. He...

No one saw him toss the laptop. Several people saw him in the area from which the drive was likely tossed carrying something. Someone saw him in Lewisburg in the Mini "fiddling" with the laptop.

Hodne's conviction in NY state in August of 1988. As it was murder, it is almost impossible for him not to go to jail immediately upon conviction. This was pre-RFG coming to Centre County, so I was not familiar with the case either. This had a minor connection with PSU, and it didn't look...

PA PA - Ray Gricar, 59, former district attorney, Bellefonte, 15 Apr 2005 - #17

Yes and no. First, I agree that the laptop could be independent of what ever happened to RFG. RFG could have just been planning to tell the county on Monday that he had lost the laptop over the weekend and that he would pay for it. This is something that he was looking to do for a while...

Respectfully snipped. No, what triggered all the thought of suicide was Tony Gricar drawing the parallel between Roy Gricar and Ray Gricar. It was not an unreasonable conclusion to jump to, considering family history. In 2005, it was known that there could be a genetic component to...

Hodne went to prison in August of 1988. RFG was not in Centre County when Hodne was arrested, not with the DA's Office when Hodne was tried, and was alive and well when Hodne went to prison for life. The sole connection is that the person who prosecuted the case hired Gricar about a year later.

In look a foul play, I'd list these possibilities. 1. Romantic encounter gone wrong: A. Has a "lover's quarrel" that becomes physical. Even without intent, lover kills RFG. B. RFG has accident or health crises and dies. Lover does not wish spouse, S.O., family to know that was involved...

There are several things: 1. In 1988 and 1993, it is not clear if the DA's office was ever notified. 2. There was a new statute under which Sandusky was charged, "Unlawful Contact" could apply. The law was not adopted until 1998. I would question if he could have been charged for anything...

I believe they were, because PEF was questioned formally by the PSP and informally by McKnight and Buehner. Buehner described her as "guileless." Keep in mind that PEF said, publicly, that she was at the gym, anyone who was there on Friday afternoon and did not see her would likely have come...

I would not assume it was Ray's choice. PEF and her current SO are not married. My closest friend lived with her SO for 25 years before he died. He asked her to marry him several times; she said no. She was working for the DA's before they started dating. Prior to that, she was a...

No, not even close. Her uncle, Gino, was former mayor of Bellefonte and county treasurer; he was actually known as "Mr. Bellefonte." A brother is an administrator in the nuclear industry. Her ex is the son of a judge in another county. Much of the family are PSU alumni, and she has a brother...
