SC - Child torture accusations against four adults in Spartanburg. October 7, 2022

I wonder what trail of tragedy they left behind them in Vermont when they moved. This sort of behavior doesn't suddenly develop overnight.

SC - Child torture accusations against four adults in Spartanburg. October 7, 2022

Not to justify anything whatsoever, but from other postings online, it looks like these adults may be carrying some of their own serious emotional scars. I'm so curious about how people get to be this way (and how such abuse might be spotted early, or potential abuse avoided). Some of these...

Did you contact the family? They posted a reward for information and then wouldn't talk with me. I thought that was mighty strange.

Again: The ground at Loon is frozen in February. Digging a hole would be a big project and would make a big mess. And precisely because there would be groomers and snowmakers and others moving around the slopes (not to mention skiers), it would be pretty much impossible to bury something there...

Typo there -- didn't mean to say that those suspected of killing him were also murdered. They died accidentally.

GB likely murdered (word is, in a gravel pit), as are those who killed him over a drug deal. Fascinating, frustrating story. Guy lived extremely modestly -- at various times in a pop-up camper, also apparently couch surfing at a senior living establishment -- yet he left a million dollars to...

Doesn't make sense that someone would go there to bury a body in February. The ground would be frozen and ski area workers would notice any excavation. Whoever it was, a summertime burial is much more likely.

A good guess is that LE gave the family -- and asked the family to return -- only personal effects, not including the booze. I think elsewhere it was reported that they did find booze.

If the rag were pushed way up the tailpipe, how would LE ever have noticed it? I gather that the car hasn't been run since it was towed away from the accident site.

For years, I've read comments by people who fault Renner for his supposedly single-minded hypothesis that MM is alive and in hiding somewhere. Now he apparently has come across something that changes his mind -- he says that, if true, the new info would make it much more likely that MM is dead...

Not enough water to drown in, and probably plenty of ice, but stepping in a hole could result in a broken ankle. The significance of the ice flow is it's potential to obliterate any evidence in it's path.

MM disappeared on Feb. 9. I can't find info on when the ice went out that year, but the tremendous annual ice flow apparently usually takes place in late February or early March -- two to four weeks later. (The volume is less on some years.) In 2010, the ice apparently went out in February (see...

Just want to comment on postings that suggest MM wandered off into the woods, or ran into the woods, or even hiked into the woods. If you look at the terrain next to the road where she disappeared, there are only a couple of alternatives: 1) In many places, she would literally have had to...

I'm going to guess that sitting in jail is pretty much a given. But the longer the defense can string something out, and the more it can complicate proceedings, the more chances there are that the prosecution or LE will make a significant error that will bring a miracle on appeal.

I found WMUR to be very good in the early days of the Celina Cass mystery. The Conway Sun has been pretty good on this one.

It was the State that asked to consolidate, not the defense. Details here. The March hearing date has been moved up to March 4.
